Summer School Information
Community
As the end of the school year quickly approaches, there are many different summer school opportunities available.
Forsyth County School Summer School
This program is for credit recovery (have previously failed a course).
HS Summer School will be held at Forsyth Central High School from June 2-June 26 (Monday-Thursday). This program is free of charge and transportation and lunch will be provided for students who attend. Students will have the opportunity to take a math course in the morning and/or an ELA, Science, or Social Studies course in the afternoon session. Due to the short time frame of summer sessions, the attendance policy is strictly adhered to through the summer. Students are allowed two absences and then are automatically withdrawn from the course.

If your child needs to register for this course, please fill out the North Forsyth High School Registration Request Form. Once your counselor has registered your student, you will receive a confirmation email.
Forsyth Virtual Academy
The summer semester runs for 6 weeks. Courses start on Wednesday, May 28 and end on Wednesday, July 9.
2024 Course Offerings and Cost
FVA Summer Courses are offered to rising 9-12 th graders ONLY. This includes current 8 th graders that will be attending High School next year.
As a reminder, rising 9th and 10th grade students may only post 1 credit hour of self pay courses each semester (summer, fall, and spring) to their transcript.

10 th Literature, 1 credit, $500
Geometry A, .5 credit, $250- student must have Algebra I credit on transcript
Personal Fitness, .5 credit, $250

Driver's Education, .5 credit, $250, meets GA DDS requirement
American Government, .5 credit, $250
Personal Finance and Economics, .5 credit, $250
Spanish II, 1.0 credit, $500
Spanish III, 1.0 credit, $500
Introduction to Healthcare Science, 1.0 credit, $500
Marketing Principles,1.0 credit, $500
Visual Arts I, 1.0 credit, $520 (includes required art kit)
Introduction to Software Technology, 1.0 credit, $500
Forensic Science, 1.0 credit, $500
Payment Information : Payment processing will be through School Pay. All course prices are set and include a non-refundable processing fee.
Required Materials: You will need a computer and reliable internet access. You will need a way to record videos (webcam, phone, etc.). For Personal Fitness, you will need to have a simple fitness tracker that can track steps (pedometer, Fit Bit, smartphone/ device, etc.)

Georgia Virtual School
As a reminder, rising 9th and 10th grade students may only post 1 credit hour of self pay courses each semester (summer, fall, and spring) to their transcript.
Steps to Complete Summer Registration:
1. Communicate your intention with the student's assigned school counselor.
2. Create a GAVS account here (if you have not taken a course previously) and register for the appropriate course.
3. Pay for the course on the GAVS website to save your spot in the class.
4. Upon completion of the course, please complete this form to add the grade to your transcript and turn it into the counseling office.
Important Dates:
- March 1, 2025: Registration opens (12:00 pm EST)
- June 2: Summer courses begin
- June 6: Last date to register for summer courses
- June 9: Last date to begin summer courses
- July 4: Independence Day Holiday (GaVS Closed)
- July 5-10: Final Exams Week
- July 17: Final Grades Released (12:00 pm EST)

The deadline to register for Georgia Virtual summer 2025 courses is June 6th.

VFW Voice of Democracy Winner!
Jordin Rhem won the VFW Post level of their Voice of Democracy competition! It is an audio-essay scholarship competition. The theme this year was "Is America Today our Forefathers' Vision?". Jordin received a $200 prize and will be moving on to the next level of the competition!

Senior Letters - All letters are due by April 25th in order for us to have time to sort the letters into folders. Letters can be mailed to the school or dropped off in the counseling/front office. Please share this with your student's family, friends, former teachers, and coaches!
Graduation Announcements - There is still time to order graduation announcements via 3rd Ascent. Once ordered, they should arrive in 7-10 business days. Order today to send to family and friends to announce your student's achievement!
Senior Sunset (May 8th) - Join us at the conclusion of senior finals to celebrate one last night in Raider Valley starting at 7PM. We will have music, drinks, ice cream, and pass out your senior letter folders. All senior students will have a senior letter packet for pick-up. Please feel free to bring comfy seating and/or activities for you and your friends! If students are unable to pick up their senior letter packet, they will be available for pick-up at Senior Breakfast.
Senior Breakfast (May 14th) - Senior Breakfast will be served at 8:30AM on Wednesday, May 14th in the NFHS Cafeteria. We will serve Chick-fil-A biscuits for all students and have coffee/waters available too. This meeting is MANDATORY for all seniors as we will be discussing all things regarding graduation expectations. In addition, students will pick up their graduation packets, which contains: 14 graduation tickets (unless additional were requested), two commemorative programs, a student parking pass, regalia, and important information! The meeting will last no later than 10AM. Senior Awards Night (May 14th) - This is an invitation-only event. Students must receive an invitation to attend. We will be celebrating academic scholarships awarded to students and other school-based awards. It will be held in the PAC starting at 6:30PM. Baccalaureate (May 15th) - This traditional event is held at First Baptist Cumming. It is a Christian non-denominational graduation celebration. It is not required to attend, but the invitations extend to each graduating senior. The event will start at 6:30. Students are asked to wear their graduation gown and regalia. No hat is required. Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
Graduation (May 20th) - Our last event is graduation on Tuesday, May 20th at 7PM. It will be held at Gas South Arena in Duluth. Students will be expected to arrive by 5PM. They will have their own parking pass and park in Deck #3 on levels 4, 5, and 6. Check-in will be on Level 3. Students will be walking A LOT. Please make sure you wear comfy shoes. Family and friends will need to purchase a parking pass for the event. Graduation lasts approximately 2 hours. Graduation will be live streamed if family/friends are unable to attend. Students will only be permitted to bring their keys into the arena. They cannot bring phones or other items to distract from this joyous celebration. Students will be dismissed out the front of the arena to meet their family members. There will be flags flying with letters, so students can meet their family under the letter that corresponds to their last name.

So proud and humbled that our MCJROTC program has been recognized by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution! We are honored to receive the Flag Respect Certificate, showcasing the dedication and hard work of the cadets in MCJROTC. They truly embody the spirit of respect and honor and patriotism that our flag represents.
A big shoutout to all the cadets and who make this program shine! Together, we are not just learning about leadership and discipline but also the rich history and values that make our nation great.

We had a GREAT FCCLA pickleball tournament fundraiser. We had 48 competitors and raised $800 for our National Competitors. Thank you to everyone that played, donated, and helped set up! It was a blast!!
DECA News
The following students from North Forsyth High School's DECA traveled to Orlando this past week to compete at the national ICDC competition in Role Plays and Business Manuals. They had a blast representing NFHS while also enjoying some fun at Disney and Universal — we’re so proud of everything they’ve accomplished this year!

Theater News:
May 9th at 6:30 and May 10th at 1 PM (time for that show still TBD)
We are wrapping up the season with a family musical presented by our Advanced Musical Theatre Class, FINDING NEMO! This musical will feature spectacular puppets, scenery and of course incredible performances by our talented NoFo Stage Students. This hour-long musical is perfect for audiences of all ages!
