He also presented to Coach Puls the United States flag that flew over the Capitol the night of the game.

In each participating district, students are invited to submit an original work created in a two-dimensional medium. Since its inception in 1982, more than 650,000 of our Nation’s high school students have participated in the Competition. The winning entry from each participating district is eligible to be flown out to Washington DC for a National Reception and is included in the annual National Exhibition, which is displayed in the Cannon House Office Building Tunnel for one year.

Mrs. Robarge's photography students were treated to a special guest last week as they had the distinct privilege of hosting Melissa Lane-Isaksson in their class! A distinguished alum of Lodi, Melissa embarked on her remarkable journey by blending her passion with hands-on experience in special education, leading to the creation and adaptation of the non-profit program, Spectrum Inspired. She went from being a skilled photographer to starting her own online school, the Unraveled Academy. February
Heart Awareness Month:
February is American Heart Month, which gives each of us an opportunity to motivate our students, family, and friends to promote healthier decisions and steps to prevent heart disease. Taking care of your heart can be challenging during our daily lives but small acts of self-care, exercise, quality sleep, and cooking healthy meals can help your heart. Heart Health Resources:
Health Agency Urges Parents, Caregivers to be Aware of Signs of Self-Harm After School Break Data show increases in self-harm coincide with returning to school in September and January.
As students begin the spring semester, the Department of Health Services (DHS) encourages parents and caregivers to be aware of Wisconsin Emergency Department data from the National Syndromic Surveillance Program that shows young people experience large increases in self-harm injuries at certain times of the year, including when school resumes after the winter holidays.
"The start and return of school can be stressful for young people and families," said Paula Tran, State Health Officer and administrator of the DHS Division of Public Health. "Parents, guardians, teachers, mentors, and others can support the young people in their life by knowing the signs of self-harm, talking openly about the struggles youth are facing, and listening to what young people have to say without judgment." Food Service
Welcome to February!
Our Harvest of the Month fruit is kiwi, the vegetable is beets and the spice is oregano. Please watch for these throughout the month. Try them and let us know if you like them! Our LTO-Limited Time Offering will be ham and pea risotto and a Japanese brown rice sushi bowl. Let us know what you think of these cultural dishes. We had good reactions to the homemade chicken enchiladas and the Mexican sweet potato/black bean tacos that were the LTO’S last month. Thank you to those who tried them and gave feedback. I will be randomly picking students and interviewing them for their feedback on school lunch. It is important for us to see how we are doing with our menu offerings and what better way than to ask the students directly!
Seniors please start thinking about what you would like to see on your menu the last week you have
school. We will be running your favorites in order to send you off with a bang.
Reminders:
Please be mindful to properly return your silverware. Many items have been thrown in the trash and we have had to order more and more as replacements. This gets expensive!
Please make sure you are taking the required amount of fruit or vegetables (1/2 cup) on your tray at lunch. This is a DPI requirement in order to make your meal comply with regulations.
Please use a tray when getting 3 or more items to ensure you are properly charged. Also, do not bring items back into the kitchen after you have already paid for them-we do not want to charge you twice!
We will be having a special treat on Valentine’s Day during lunch! Stay tuned for the surprise!
Have a great February!

Thank you to the Lodi Athletic Boosters for upgrading our HUDL coaching and viewing account which allowed for the new streaming service.
LHS Staff Appreciation
Appreciate a Staff Member!
We have so many amazing educators here at Lodi High School! Last year, Mr. Jelinek and Mr. Marshall sat down with each staff member, and one of the common themes that came up was how much our staff love to be appreciated by the families that they serve. When you experience a staff member who is going above and beyond or deserves some recognition, please consider giving them a shout-out through our staff appreciation google form. Your appreciation will be put on a staff appreciation poster and shared with that staff member.
