PCMS Weekly Update
October 18, 2024
Good Afternoon PCMS Families!
Today marks the end of the 1st Quarter of school already! How crazy is that!?! Progress Reports will be emailed home next Friday, so be on the lookout for those in your inbox. Today, our 8th graders visited the Northland Career Center (NCC) to see the great programs and career opportunities that they will have access to during their high school years. Donβt forget that Parent-Teacher Conferences are just around the corner. Below is information on how to sign up for conferences as they are all by appointment (both in-person or virtual).
Have a beautiful fall-ish weekend and GO PIRATES!!
Score of the Lost & Found: 54 after Week 9 !! The colder weather definitely impacted our Lost & Found...more hoodies have made it on the rack.
π» School Tip & Reminders
We need students charge their Chromebooks every night. The library has a limited number of chargers to loan out or to help students charge their Chromebooks. They will only be allowing students to charge their Chromebook in the Library once a week from now on. If your child has lost their charger, a new one can be purchased in the office for $20.
𧑠This Week's Character Dare
The CharacterDare is a heart workout, inviting students and adults to practice kindness, patience, and respect with themselves and others. These school-wide challenges encourage staff and students to put character into action, fostering personal growth and positively impacting school culture.
This Week's CharacterDare is: Break Bread (see below).
We invite families to join us in these challenges and look forward to the positive impact they will have on everyone.

All of our Pirates were in action this week! Hereβs a quick recap of their week.
Football: On Tuesday, the C team played their final game against Liberty North and won 19-0. Jacek Kwiatkowski threw a touchdown to Bo Wilkens, and Rowdy Hawk had two rushing touchdowns. Langston Wilson added an extra point kick. The defense played great and got a third shutout game of the season.
On Thursday, the A Team traveled to play New Mark Middle School and won a thriller 26-20. Early in the game Phin McMain had an interception returned for a touchdown. Later, Cade Fowler had a rushing touchdown, two extra point conversions, and threw a late game, go-ahead touchdown to Owen Yates. Maclin Bolling made an extra point, and also a three point field goal. Late in the game the defense made huge plays to seal the victory.
The B team followed, and the defense held New Mark scoreless for their fourth shutout performance of the season, winning 18-0. Landon Stewart threw a touchdown to Graysen Smith, and also added a rushing score. Damien Justice sealed the game with a late rushing touchdown of his own.
In total the teams were 14-3. The coaches are extremely proud of the attitude and effort from all players. The season is now concluded!

π΄ Pirates ROCK Character Trait for OCTOBER: Responsibility
Pirates R.O.C.K. (Raising Outstanding Character Kids) is a program designed to surround our families with examples of strong character traits through school experiences, at home, and reinforced in their community. Each month our community focuses on a specific character trait and students are recognized for exhibiting these traits: Self Confidence, Pride, Responsibility, Citizenship, Compassion, Individuality, Self Control, Integrity, Perseverance, Respect, Honesty, and Cooperation.
October's #PiratesRock trait is Responsibility: being accountable for your actions without blame.
