Message From The Principal
GLAD TO BE BACK!
Hello Emerson staff, parents, and students! I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome back this week. I really appreciated all the smiles, high fives, fist bumps, notes, and hugs. It has been wonderful to catch up with my Emerson Family! Thank you to the amazing Emerson staff for stepping up in my absence and for all their hard work and dedication to our students. Thank you to Dr. Repicky for his willingness to assume my duties and his commitment to maintaining our positive school climate and outstanding learning environment. During his months at Emerson, Dr. Repicky created close bonds with students and staff. I know that he was appreciated and will be missed.
This past week, I had the opportunity to discuss with all of our students the importance of finishing the year strong with our PAWS expectations. This week, I will also be meeting with grades 3-6 to review the importance of M-STEP testing.
The home stretch has always been my favorite time of year as it is full of fun activities, enriching field trips, celebrations, and, hopefully, good weather. I am very happy to be back and look forward to finishing this year strong together!
Sam Argiri

CANVAS LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM!
All students, grades Young 5s-12 use Canvas, a learning management system. Classroom teachers use Canvas to provide instruction, resources, activities, and assessments for students, as well as parent communication.
Parents are encouraged to set up a parent/observer account to stay abreast of student learning. Canvas will allow parents to:
- Contact their child’s teacher
- View grades, due dates, and events
- See, and in many cases access, what the child is doing at school
- Support an absent student
- View classroom and building announcements
