The "Buck Nation" Tribune
Week of Sept. 5-9, 2022
As always thank you for trusting us with your children. We are humbled and honored to be able to do so. This week was fantastic. Students are falling into our systems and routines. Classes are building relationships and recess is supporting our social and emotional expectations.
Our team is working collaboratively to ensure that our students are taken care of emotionally and academically. This week is of course a short week due to the labor day holiday; however, Tuesday will be a day filled with academic challenges and supports for our kids.
We encourage families to stay connected and informed by following our district and school website for important information. We value our partnership with families as we navigate this year together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with questions or concerns. Be the Dream…. Whatever it Takes #Greene Greatness.
As you prepare for this week please remember your “why”. Please know that the staff at Greene is by far one of the best teams of educators in the district. Take care of yourself and each other. Thanks for your continued support.

Families of BUCK NATION!
Thank you for trusting us with your children. It has been an incredible back to school week! We had Town Hall meetings and students were able to enjoy being in the auditorium seeing all of their friends and meeting new faculty.
In Town Hall meetings we also reviewed the expectations for Safety and Respect in school. In order for students to be in classrooms learning, it's imperative for students to move from one class to another directly. There is no time for visiting other classrooms or walking friends to the first floor, if the next class is on the third!
Students who are in hallways without a pass after the bell rings will be given detention. We want to ensure students are safely where they need to be to get the most out of instruction.
A great day at Greene starts with being ON TIME! We open our doors for breakfast at 7:20. A bell rings at 7:50. Another bell rings at 7:57. Students need to be in classrooms ready to learn by 8:00.
We have included 10 minutes to ensure students will have time to use their lockers, grab a snack and be in class ON TIME. Students who arrive to school after 8:00 without a parent/guardian, will be marked Unexcused Tardy. The fourth Unexcused tardy will result in Detention.
Our goal this year is to support students getting the most out of their learning day!

From Mr Maxsom-Taylor Director of Operations...
Greetings Buck Nation Family,
It was great to have students back in the building. The first week of school went smooth overall. Thank you for entrusting us with your children.
Please remind your child(ren) that head gear is to be worn outside and not in the school, unless it's for religious reasons. Also, students need to pay attention to bus numbers and location to ensure they are getting there quickly.
If you have any questions please contact me.
Thank you,
Mr. Maxsom-Taylor,
Director of Operations
From Mr. Furtick School Culture Coordinator...
The first week of school was a success! Students came ready to learn and did a great job adjusting to the changes in the building. We had 3 Grade Level Meetings that were very productive. During these meetings, students were able to hear from Admin about schoolwide.
