Bonsall Bear News
Week of December 2 - December 6
Principal's Message
Dear BES families,
I hope that the past week brought you and your family joy, gratitude, and some much needed downtime. There are a lot of school and classroom activities happening over the next three weeks so please read all school and class communication carefully!
We have a new system for dropping off items your students may have forgotten such as lunches, water bottles, backpacks, etc. Please see below for specific information.
Love On Your Back has their annual blanket drive going until December 9th. Please see the flyer below for information.
Our annual Holiday Shop starts this week! The PTA was hard at work over the Thanksgiving break to set up for our little shoppers. This year, the PTA will be donating 50% of the profits they make from the Holiday Shop to support our Love On Your Back program. Thank you, PTA, for your generosity!
The PTA is hosting their first toy drive to support some of our Bonsall families. Please see the flyer below for more information.
Lastly, please see the flyer for our 5th grader students and the annual yearbook cover contest.
Warmly,
Allison Fortney
Friendly Reminders
Please see below for some friendly reminders from our school staff.
- Please remember when you check out your student, kindly wait outside of the office until your student arrives. Often times, multiple students are being checked out at once and things can get hectic for our front office staff when there are too many people in the office. This is also a measure we take to protect student's personal information. We often have meetings taking place in our office conference rooms and the office conversations can be disruptive to these meetings. We appreciate your cooperation with this.
- You must have a CLEARED volunteer packet in order to work in your student's classroom. This includes a background check and a cleared TB test. You will need to be finger printed if you plan on attending a field trip off campus. If you have questions about volunteering, please call the front office.
- When you are volunteering, siblings are not permitted in the classrooms. This can be a distraction to other students' learning.
- If you plan on taking a vacation during the school year, please allow your child's teacher a 10 day notice to prepare work and get a study contract together.
Thank you for paying attention to these reminders and requests. Should you have any questions, please call the front office.
NEW BES student item drop off system
In order to further promote privacy for our students and families in our school office as well as prevent disruption to the classroom, we will begin a new process for dropping off student items that may have been left at home. Please use the cart outside, along with the clipboard stating your child's name, teacher, and item. Our office staff will ensure that the items get delivered in a timely manner to your child!
Love On Your Back holiday drive
Love on Your Back (LOYB), a local non-profit, is collecting new blankets and stocking stuffers for Bonsall Unified Families in need for the holiday season. Donations will be accepted until Monday, December 9th.
Where to Donate: Bring items to the school office and place them in the marked LOYB bin.
