Amy's Weekly Write-Up

Next week I will be setting up a couple of different structures to try and support you. In that new block of school based time that we have I am going to do a couple of different things. First, I'm going to take the results that came in on the "Input Please" survey and create an hour of differentiated PD. Once I have that all compiled, I will send out a separate email about it. For the second hour, we are going to have a Q & A staff meeting where you can bring your questions and we will do our best to answer them together.

The other thing I've done is to plug several office hours into the PD calendar. During those times, I will have the google meet open and anyone is free to stop by and ask questions, check in about something, take a deep breath with me, whatever you need. Several people popped in when I did that today and I think/hope it was helpful to those who did. Of course, I am always happy to set up a different time with you individually, but thought this might be helpful as well.

I have ordered bags to send home materials/supplies kits. As you are planning what to send home for manipulatives, supplies, etc. go ahead and set them aside. Once the bags come in and the "kits" are ready to go, we can get them loaded up and ready for distribution. Some ideas of what might go into the kits: math manipulatives, Fundations tile boards, whiteboards and markers, pencils/crayons/markers/etc, books for students to read....those kinds of things.

The way I am envisioning distribution happening is that they would be ready to go during intake meetings. If you are meeting with a family in person, they could pick them up then. If you are meeting virtually, we can make arrangements with families to get the kits to them at another time. I am also open to other ideas about how to distribute them.

I know some of you have asked a few questions about student email accounts and what to use to invite students to join your google classrooms. All students will have an MTRSD email account....this is the only account that they (and we) should be using in the google classrooms. This helps to protect the security of the classrooms and ensure the integrity of the classroom. I am waiting for the finalized list for the student accounts and will get them to you, along with their log in information, hopefully early next week.
