From the Principal
Hello Cougar Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Typical spring in Wisconsin, 75* on Friday, snow on Sunday, and back up to 70* by Tuesday. Hopefully, Mother Nature will be more consistent with warmer weather for our Spring Break next week. Speaking of Spring Break- I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Make sure to take time to make memories with family and friends. The next newsletter will be sent out on March 30th.
A few things to note:
- Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS)- Thank you to the 7th and 8th grade students for their participation in this year's YRBS. Thank you to the families who supported this survey and for speaking with your students about the survey. Our 9th-12th graders will be completing this survey over the next two days in English classrooms. The anonymous results are used by the county, local health organizations, and schools to ensure that we are providing students with education regarding making safe and healthy choices. There is a link to an FAQ document below for those who would like to learn more.
- State Testing- Mandatory state testing will be happening quickly following spring break. April 8th is our ACT testing date. Attendance for ALL juniors is mandatory. Everyone else will have a virtual learning day at home. The PreACT Secure for all 9th and 10th grade and a large chunk of the Wisconsin Forward Exam will be done with all 7th-8th graders on April 15th in the morning. 7th-10th grade attendance is mandatory. Juniors and seniors will be participating in a community service activity. There will be a shortened schedule in the afternoon. More information will be sent home soon regarding state testing.
- Community Link- Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the newsletter and click on the "Community Connections" button. This button will take you to the page on our website where we publish all fliers and announcements from around our community. Check out what you can do to get involved in the amazing Clinton Community!
Have a great week, may the luck of the Irish be with you!
Mrs. Stewart
From the Athletic Director
Hello Clinton Community School District Families,
The spring season is officially here! Track began this past week, and softball and baseball get underway this week. The weather was great this past week, and we are hopeful that the weather continues to get warmer as our teams begin to make their way outside. The first track meet of the year is this Friday in Whitewater, and we look forward to a fun season ahead.
BOOSTER CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT- The booster club is looking for new faces to get involved every month. For the past 5 years, the booster club has helped initiate big projects at CJSH and they continue to support our students with some great opportunities. One of the easiest ways to help is in the concession stand. From the Behavioral Support Specialist
Cougar Family,
Just a few reminders as we head into the last week before Spring Break,
Overall, our attendance this year as a whole has been fantastic. Please continue to make diligent efforts to get your students to school every day. We know over the last couple of months, and over the next several weeks, various illnesses have been (and will be) floating around, but we want to encourage attendance unless they have a fever, are throwing up, or have other symptoms that do not allow them to attend school according to our handbook. If you have questions about whether your students should attend school when they have a cold, please feel free to reach out to the office.
Something that has surfaced recently has been an uptick of issues with friends and relationships. We have been receiving more reports about conflicts between students. A couple of things: One, please talk to your student(s) about how they conduct themselves around others - both students and staff - while here at school. Two, please discuss with your students what they should do if they feel like they are having a conflict with someone. Encourage them to seek out a trusted adult at the school to help them navigate the conflict. We are here to support everyone.

Attention Seniors
The top two options for the Class of 2025 Senior Trip is either Devil's Lake or Kalahari. Please cast your vote on your Class of 2025 Google Classroom before March 18th. The trip option with the majority of the votes will be the "winning trip" and will be announced during CCTV LIVE on March 19th. Please vote in Google Classroom!
Attention Juniors
Mrs. Kluge will be meeting with all juniors during homeroom on April 2nd and April 3rd to share some important information including the Wisconsin Direct Admit program as they move into their Senior year.
All juniors should plan to attend this event, individual and parent meetings will be offered following the meeting for anyone with additional questions.
Health Class
Freshman Health students had CPR Hands only training this week. This training equips individuals with the life-saving skills needed to help someone experiencing a cardiac emergency. Students learn how to recognize the signs of cardiac arrest and perform chest compressions until medical professionals arrive. This skill is essential in emergencies, increasing the chances of survival and minimizing long-term damage.
Mrs. Sullivan's Mass Media Class
Mass Media took a field trip to WKOW Channel 27 News to learn the "behind the scenes" essentials when streaming and conducting a news program. They learned about the programs used, the roles and duties of the team, and importance of personal presentation. They will take as much of the information they learned and apply it to our own CCTV LIVE and Cougar Chronicles.

Interested in exploring different careers? Here is your opportunity!
Each month, 9th-12th grade students can attend a field trip to Hendricks CareerTek where we will focus on different career paths. At CareerTek, students will hear from 2-3 local employers in that career field and have an opportunity to ask questions. Below are the dates and pathways for each field trip:
Tuesday 3/18/2025 - Careers in Sports (date subject to change)
Tuesday 4/15/2025 - Automotive
If you are interested in attending any of these field trips, please click here to complete a permission slip, or see Mrs. Paynter for a hard copy.
Hendricks CareerTek offers academic scholarships to students; however, students must attend a minimum of 3 events/programs (not limited to the events listed above) with CareerTek to be eligible for a scholarship.
