Low Ash Primary
Weekly round up - 13.12.24
Autumn half term 2 - week 6
We can't quite believe that next week is the final week of the term - it's been a long one! Thank you for all of your support along the way. This week has felt particularly festive with the Key Stage 1 Nativity, Elfridges travelling gift shop (a huge thank you once more to FOLA), the Nursery evening Christmas story session and Christmas jumper day. Next week, the festivities continue with Carols by Candlelight, the EYFS Christmas sing song and craft session, Christmas Dinner, the Year 5 Victorian Christmas and our special visitor on the last day of term. We can't wait!

'Well done' to this week's Stars of the Week (pictured above) who have all had exceptionally good weeks.

Attendance
This week's school attendance is 94.4%.
Whole school attendance so far this year is 95.5%
Early Years/Key Stage 1 classes of the week are Reception Base 2 and 1B with 96.3% attendance.
Key Stage 2 class of the week is 5B with 99% attendance.
Once more, here is the link to the attendance page of the school website which has information on the Penalty Notice system. Ultimately, more than 2 penalty notices could result in the council taking you to court and a criminal record. We really do not want any of our families to have to go through this.
Key Stage 1 Nativity
The Key Stage 1 Nativity took place this week and it was wonderful to watch. All of the pupils (and adults!) have worked so hard these past few weeks. Thank you to all parents/carers who came to support the event.
Choir
The Choir did their first performance of the year at Wrose Chapel this week. They will return to the stage again next week at a local nursing home and at Carols by Candlelight. Well done all!
Year 3 Nell Bank
Both Year 3 classes visited Nell Bank this week and, despite the wet, drizzly weather, really enjoyed themselves. The trip was to further enhance their History learning.
Lord Mayor's Award
Mrs Matthews and Safa from Year 5 had a special visit to see the Lord Mayor yesterday. You might remember that, due to the First Aid teaching delivered by Mrs Matthews, Safa could recognize the signs of a stroke in her grandma so she could get to the hospital within the so called 'golden hour'. Well done to both!
A reception was held at City Hall for Safa and Mrs Matthews where they were both presented with certificates in recognition of their work. A number of news reporters were also present at the Reception and articles have appeared in the T&A and BBC online (the links are below).

Sport
Reminder - bikes and scooters
A reminder that, whilst we encourage pupils to come to school on scooters and bikes, once in the playground please can you make sure your children are riding at an appropriate speed. We do not want any smaller children or adults getting hit. Thank you for your support.
