December is an exciting month. Thank you for supporting our teachers by having your child attend school, focus on learning, get enough rest and plenty of fresh air. As 2024 comes to a close, we look back at a year of many celebrations and a few challenges. We all need to take care of ourselves and each other. Our students have shown us how to go with things as they happen, ask questions to understand and enjoy all the small things. We continue to learn as much from our amazing students as they learn from us. Remember, our gift of giving to others is priceless. Help, make time for, give thanks to and leave positive messages for others. Make this holiday season extra special by giving your time to others.

Mark your calendars…our Jaguar Jingle Jubilee holiday event will take place at JSS on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 6 to 7:30 pm. Please plan to attend. At JSS, we value our strong sense of school community, and continue to find ways to nurture and enjoy it. This year our event will look a little different, but it will provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy our school community, build memories, have fun and celebrate the season together. Thank you in advance for your support and willingness to try something new this year!

At JSS, we continue to recognize students who say and do the right thing, especially when no one is looking. When our students get “Caught in the Matrix” by taking care of themselves, others and our school, they are presented with Jaguar Cards. Students are excited to submit their jaguar cards to the office Jaguar draw box. Each week two students are randomly selected from the draw box to receive various prizes provided by our local community. 219 JSS students received Jaguar Cards in September, another 308 students in October and 154 students in November, for a total of 681 Jaguar Cards so far this school year. We are very proud of all our students and staff living the school pledge each day. Thanks to the local businesses and our entire community for supporting this program. JSS Council & Parents’ Society

December already?! Parents’ Society is happy to announce that we are scheduled to

build an accessible/inclusive Play Area to replace the wooden playground in May 2025.

Fundraising continues to also include a swing set! We have received several

donations, including $3500 from the Camrose Family Thrift Shop, $5000 from Elaine

and Victor Liebaert, and $2000 from Krista and Adam Bilyk. A meeting is planned with the

Camrose Kinsmen to see if they can offer support as well. Please check the link below

for more information and to contribute to this project. Donations made on the crowdfund

page will be matched 50% up to a max of $5000! Feel free to skip the optional “tip” as

our platform fees have been paid.

As always, if you shop at Save-On-Foods, you can ask to donate your receipt to Jack

Stuart School when you’re at the till. We receive 5% back. Our Fall check was $611!

Join us at our next Parent Council meeting, followed immediately by the Parents' Society Meeting on Tues., Dec. 10 at 5:30 pm. Our January meeting will be announced at a later date.

Our Jaguar Artist Club will start in January. This is an after-school club for our students who would like to explore different art activities. Permission forms and fees will cover student attendance from January to June 2025.

If there is enough interest, this year, I will run two groups: one for grades 4 and 5 and another for grades 2 and 3. Jaguar artists will meet every two weeks. The days of the week can be flexible if there are conflicts. The cost is $50, payable online for the entire year.
