First Day of School Success
This school year is off to a great start. The First Day excitement was palpable, and it's all thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Kings Canyon Unified classified and certificated staff TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL making sure our sites were ready to go! From preparing classrooms to organizing materials and ensuring our campuses are ready, your efforts have set the stage for what promises to be a fantastic year.

K-12 DIVE: How a California high school takes a team approach to boost attendance
As principal of the 1,800-student Reedley High School in California, John Ahlin knows he can’t be in all places all the time, so he relies on a network of teams that monitor attendance, along with learning, teaching, school management, school culture and more.

MID VALLEY TIMES: KCUSD opens new student support center
REEDLEY – Kings Canyon Unified School District (KCUSD) officially opened its Student Support Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. on Aug. 16. Roughly 50 people attended the ceremony, which was held outdoors in front of the center. Roberto Gutierrez, KCUSD Deputy Superintendent Personnel, served as master of ceremonies. He said the center was created with a clear and powerful mission: “To be a beacon of support for our students and families.”

KSEE 24: Central Valley schools are expanding students’ learning experiences
After School or summer programs are getting a makeover and schools are expanding students learning with new experiences. Students at Jefferson Elementary in Kings Canyon Unified seem eager to learn the basics of boxing as it’s a new experience for them.
It’s just one of the many enrichment opportunities open to students at Jefferson Elementary.
