PKS was represented at this year's Triples Tennis Tournament hosted by Tiki Tennis. Teacher's Mrs. Boyd, Mrs. Gilman, and retired PKS teacher Ms. Robinson went undefeated to win the coveted coconut trophy! Congratulations!
100 days of School
Students participated in the celebration of 100 days of school.
We are excited to announce that Junior Ranger Day will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025! The fun-filled day will offer ranger-guided programs at both Shark Valley and Royal Palm (Anhinga Trail) and give children an opportunity to earn their very own Junior Ranger Badge at a special ceremony at 2:00 PM.
- Event: Junior Ranger Day 2025
- Date: Saturday, February 8, 2025
- Time: 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM
- Location: Shark Valley (36000 SW 8 Street, Miami, Florida 33194) AND Royal Palm / Anhinga Trail (40001 State Road 9336, Homestead, Florida 33034)
- Shark Valley will offer a free tram ride with paid park admission! Reservations required by calling 786-886-9990. Limited to 1 adult per child to allow maximum participation from other families.
- No reservations are required for any other Junior Ranger Day activities.
- Cost: Note that entrance fees still apply of $35/vehicle (card only - no cash); but 4th graders can get their family into the park for free if they bring a physical Every Kid Outdoors pass or voucher (MUST be printed, cannot be a copy on the phone). Learn more at Everykidoutdoors.gov.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HAPPENINGS
STUDENT OF THE WEEK K-2
Hunter Hoefert is kindergarten's student of the week. Hunter is a ROCK STAR! He is kind, smart, thoughtful, inquisitive and knowledgeable. Hunter is a friend to all students with his sly smile and soft voice. He is an athlete on the playground and in PE. He is intuitive and bright in class. Congratulations Hunter — Keep up the great work!!
STUDENT OF THE WEEK 3-5
Julianne Ostenson (5th):
Julianne is a star student and represents many of our PBIS iBelieve expectations. She was recommended because she is always willing to help others, uses positive words and treats others with kindness and respect. Whenever another student needs help, Julianne is always the first person there helping in any way she can. Julianne is a true PKS Panther always meeting and exceeding our iBelieve expectations. Way to go Julianne!!!
MIDDLE SCHOOL HAPPENINGS

- Isaac Ginjuama is a shining example of what it means to follow the I-BELIEVE expectations at Plantation Key School. He consistently shows respect to his teachers and peers, creating a positive learning environment where everyone can thrive. Isaac is always mindful of classroom procedures, ensuring that he contributes to a structured and supportive atmosphere. His empowerment in his studies is evident, as he approaches each lesson with enthusiasm and readiness to learn. Isaac's commitment to his education and respect for others make him a valued member of our school community. Keep up the great work, Isaac!
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
Sixth grade American History class Black History Month avid gallery walk with elementary classes.

1st graders and 5th graders enjoyed browsing at the PBIS Store this week.
7th Grade Field Trip
On March 5, 2025, the 7th Grade will take a field trip to see the Honorable Judge Sharon Hamilton at the Tavernier Courthouse. We will observe the criminal arraignment process.
