Dr. Boeger's Notes
Good morning Sperreng,
We hope you all have enjoyed a restful winter break with family and friends. Today, we hope you are staying warm and safe in this winter weather. Please note I have included information below on how to stay connected should we have any school closings this week or in the winter season.
Additionally, students, please be sure to have those iPads charged as we return to school this week. Remember, if you have new electives for 3rd quarter, check your Canvas page and Infinite Campus for course information.
FInally, as we turn the calendar pages to a new year, this is the time in the school year that we start planning for the 2025-2026 school year. Please be sure to read the eNote for dates for our 8th graders as they plan their course selections for high school, as well as dates for our current 5th, 6th, and 7th graders as they plan to make decisions for courses for next school year. Counselors will be setting up meetings with classes this month to go in and discuss course programing course selction forms. You do not need to do anything at this moment, just be sure to mark your calendars for our informational nights.
Thank you again for taking a moment to read our first 2025 eNote! Stay warm and safe out there!
Take care and talk soon,
Dr. Boeger

District Inclement Weather Information for 24-25
As colder weather approaches, now is a good time to remind families and staff how we prepare for potential school closures that can result from snow, ice, or other severe weather events.
Snow Days
In the event of inclement weather, Lindbergh Schools will make the decision to close school based on a number of factors, including student safety, bus transportation, road conditions and wind chill temperature.
Our 2024-25 district calendar includes five built-in emergency weather days (“snow days”). On a snow day, school will be closed, and students will not attend classes. Please note that we will not utilize at-home learning days (also called AMI days) unless all of our traditional snow days have been exhausted.
How We Communicate
When possible, the decision to close school is made by 10 p.m. the night before. However, if the decision cannot be made by 10 p.m., then a decision will be made between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. the next morning.
We use the following tools to communicate school closures due to inclement weather:
Text message
Email
Automated phone call
District website alert
Social media
District mobile app notification
Local TV, radio news
At-Home Learning Days
Although unlikely, in the event that we use all of our built-in emergency weather days before spring arrives, students will participate in virtual learning from home. Virtual learning days are also known as Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Days, and attendance will be taken, just like a regular in-person school day.
While we hope they will not be necessary, these virtual learning opportunities allow our students to continue to engage with teachers on days when it is unsafe to travel to and from school. They also benefit families by ensuring that the school year does not extend past Memorial Day.
We appreciate your partnership and support, and wish you a safe winter season!

District Updates
Standards-Based Learning Survey: Parents Grades 2-7
The 8th-12th Grade Standards-Based Learning Task Force, comprised of teachers, parents, students, and administrators, is exploring how standards-based learning could be implemented beyond 7th grade. This task force is studying high school grading models, reviewing current practices at Lindbergh High School, and gathering insights from district families whose students are currently using standards-based learning.
We are asking parents of students in grades 2-7 to complete this short survey. Your feedback is essential, and the information we collect will help the task force make an informed recommendation about the future of grading practices in grades 8-12. At this time, a timeline for implementation of any recommendations has not been established.
Please take a moment to complete the survey before Jan. 7, and help us better understand your experiences and perspectives. Thank you.
