Hello Stellar Families
Please ensure you have downloaded the NEW Duval Schools App. If you have the app from a previous school year, please download the NEW app. We have been made aware of some families not receiving notifications. Some we were able to resolve; and we have also notified the district.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS
- Doors Open at 8a
- K-2 students report to classroom hallway
- 3rd-5th students report to cafeteria
- Instruction begins at 8:25a PROMPTLY
- Arrival after 8:30a is considered TARDY
- All parents/guardians should have PIKMYKID app for dismissal
- All changes to PIKMYKID must be made in the app by 12p
- Dismissal begins at 2:50p ; 12:45a on early dismissal
- Bus riders are grouped by bus number and dismissed as the bus arrives
- Car Rider loop closes at 3:07p
Car riders not picked up by 3:07p in the loop must be picked up at front of the building
WEATHER MAKEUP DAY UPDATE
PICTURE DAY
OCTOBER 24th
Fall/Yearbook Picture Day will be October 24
**Please ensure students wear their school uniform. Fall pictures are utilized for yearbook**
Spring Pictures are taken in February and students encouraged to wear clothing of their choice
Our picture day vendor- Leonards Photography will email more information directly to parents/families with purchasing information a few weeks prior to picture day AND students will come home with information
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Wear Hispanic Heritage T-shirts on FRIDAYS until 10/11
- Students encouraged to wear a shirt EVERY FRIDAY to support HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
- Students are introduced to a new word each week during the morning announcements
- Special in-school program for students on October 15th
OCTOBER- WEAR PINK
WEAR PINK EVERY TUESDAY IN OCTOBER
EVERY Tuesday in the Month of October student leaders may wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness

SAC (School Advisory Council)
The School Advisory Council is a committee made up of parents, staff, administrators, businesses, and community members who work together to help the school improve.
Being a School Advisory Council member is a great way to be an important part of your child's education and stay informed about school improvement plans.
Meetings are held monthly in the Media Center at 5:30p
EARLY PICK UP
As a reminder, students will not be released after 2:15pm or after 12:15p on Early Release days - per DCPS policy.
Please reserve early pick up for days when it is absolutely necessary. We understand appointments and emergencies come up at times but please ensure child is in school the entire school day when possible. Our teachers provide instruction until end of school day.
LEADER IN ME
HABIT and CHARACTER TRAIT of the MONTH
Biscayne Elementary is a LEADER IN ME School. Students leaders are taught the 7 Habits in the classroom and they are shared on the morning announcements daily.
CHARACTER TRAIT of the MONTH = RESPONSIBILITY
Ask your student about HABIT #1 and HABIT #2 and reinforce this habit at home

REPORT CARDS will post Week of 10/21
Report Cards and Progress Reports are accessed electronically on FOCUS. They will not be sent home.
LOG IN to FOCUS Parent Account > Below Students Name there are 4 tabs - Grades| News| Planner| Reports > Select REPORTS > Progress Report > Click down arrow to Download and View your students progress report **SEE IMAGE BELOW **
