Spotlights 🔦: Marvelous Event
🤩 We are so excited to showcase all of our students' talents and personalities in this wonderful event!
TVUSD is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students who excelled in the 2024-2025 Riverside County Teen Poet Laureate competition. Organized by the Riverside County Office of Education, this annual event highlights the creativity and powerful voices of young poets across the region.
We are excited to share that Bethel Albe, a junior from Chaparral High School, has been named the 2024-2025 Riverside County Teen Poet Laureate! Her compelling and thought-provoking poetry earned her the top honor, along with the opportunity to serve as a literary ambassador, participating in countywide events and initiatives throughout the year.
Alongside Bethel, students from all three of TVUSD's comprehensive high schools were recognized, showcasing the district's commitment to fostering artistic expression and literary excellence. Clarabelle Alvarez, an 8th grader from Gardner Middle School, was also honored as a finalist, earning a Certificate of Recognition for her exceptional work. You can read the poems by clicking here: Teen Poet Laureate Finalist Chapbook 2024.
Congratulations to all our finalists and their mentors for representing TVUSD with such distinction. We look forward to seeing how they continue to shape the future of poetry in our community and beyond. For more information about the Teen Poet Laureate program, visit the RCOE website.
