In Pre-K, students focused on understanding expectations and making "good" choices. The children were introduced to green/expected choices and red/unexpected choices. Green choices, like walking, cleaning up, taking turns, and listening, are the ones we want to make. Red choices, like breaking crayons, throwing toys, running, and yelling, are ones we want to avoid. We practiced role-playing both types of choices and talked about how green choices not only make us feel good, but also make others feel good, too! Extend this concept at home by role playing green and red choices with your little one and their stuffies!
In Kindergarten this week, students have been actively learning across multiple subjects. In FUNdations, they practiced tracing and writing the letters t, b, and f, while using sounds and pictures to reinforce their letter recognition. In Reading and Writing Workshop, students explored how pictures can help tell a story and began working on creating and adding to their own stories. In Math, they used counting to compare groups and determine which is greater, less than, or equal. Science lessons focused on how animals can predict the weather, and in Social Studies, they learned the story of Johnny Appleseed. It’s been an exciting week filled with hands-on learning and discovery!

SEPTEMBER WRAP RECAP
A Message from the Wrap Coordinators
The half-day Kindergarten Wrap Around Program has had an exciting start! Students have been busy learning classroom expectations and routines, and discussing what it means to be safe, kind, and responsible throughout the day. The children are enjoying getting to know new friends and teachers, and working together to build towers, airplanes, and most importantly, friendships. Students have also been learning lots of fun facts about apples! It’s been a fantastic month, and we’re looking forward to an amazing year ahead!
Sincerely, Ms. Weston, Ms. Dengler, Ms. Miller, Ms. Smith

Facilities Bond Referendum Update
We've updated the Facilities Bond Referendum Information Portal with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and a form to submit additional questions. UPCOMING EVENTS @ LINCOLN SCHOOL
Touch-A-Truck - Mon, Sept 30
As a precursor to the Week of Respect, the Lincoln School PTO has partnered with local emergency responders to provide students with a Touch-A-Truck event.
Community helpers like firefighters, police officers, doctors, and teachers keep our communities safe and running smoothly. Respect is essential in how we interact with them, shown through listening, courtesy, and gratitude. By respecting their roles, students learn to appreciate their contributions and understand that cooperation and kindness help communities thrive.
Please note, the playground side of the parking lot will not be available for the entire day.
Thanks to our PTO volunteers who will be on site to facilitate this fun event!
Back to School Night - Tues, Oct 1
Pumpkin Patch - Wed, Oct 16
The annual Lincoln School Pumpkin Patch will consist of various fall-themed stations for students: pumpkin picking, pumpkin decorating, games, and stories. Parents and caregivers are welcome to visit during their child’s scheduled time.
Please send a reusable bag; students will use them to bring home their pumpkins (please note, it is unlikely the same bag will be returned to you). The PTO has circulated a volunteer sign-up form through Membership Toolkit.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
⏰ Timely Arrival
We appreciate your cooperation getting students to school on time each and every day! Late arrivals interrupt the flow of the class, and the late comer requires time to catch up with what the class has already accomplished.
📥Parent Pick-Up & Changes to Dismissal Plans
When the dismissal plan of a student is a parent pick up, it is the expectation that a parent or guardian will pick up. Any change to the plan must be communicated in an email to the teacher and the main office secretaries on the day of the change. The designee for pick up will have to show the teacher a government issued photo ID. These practices help us to manage the safe dismissal of all students.
