Important Updates & Reminders!!
Dear Parents and Students,
As we approach the end of the holiday break, we want to remind everyone of the importance of adhering to our school's dress code policy, school ID requirements, and outline some key updates and expectations:
- Dress Code Violations:
- Beginning after Christmas vacation, students who violate the dress code will be given one opportunity to change clothes. After this one opportunity, any dress code violations will result in Out of School Suspension (OSS).
- For further clarification, the full dress code policy can be found in the Student Handbook on our school website.
- School ID Requirements:
- Students must wear their school ID at all times while on campus.
- Students not wearing their ID will ONLY be allowed to access the campus through the front doors (except bus students). Bus students will be required to go straight to the office to purchase an ID or go to ISS for the day.
- IDs are sold for $5 and will be available for purchase until the end of 2nd period.
- Freshman Checkout/Leaving campus for lunch Procedures:
- Freshman students must be signed out from the front office when leaving campus for any reason, including lunch.
- After signing out, students are required to exit through the front office doors and return through the front office doors when coming back to school.
- Freshman students will not be allowed to exit or return through the parking lot gate fence.
- Freshman students are not allowed to leave for lunch unless signed out by a parent or guardian.
We appreciate your cooperation and ask that you take this time to review these expectations and procedures with your child to ensure smooth transitions in the new year. Thank you for your continued support.

Inspiring the Next Generation!!!
At the first home game of the season, the Lovington High School Varsity Girls Basketball team created an unforgettable experience for young girls in our community!
Each varsity player was joined by a young athlete as they were introduced, with both tossing a ball into the stands together. These future stars also stood proudly alongside the team during the national anthem, sharing in the excitement and spirit of the game.
This heartwarming tradition is a wonderful way to inspire and encourage the younger generation to dream big and aim high. Way to go, Lady Cats, for being amazing role models both on and off the court!

December Focus: Confidence
For the month of December, Lovington High School's focus was on Confidence. Confidence means believing in one's ability to overcome adversity and to achieve goals. Confidence also means being able to take initiative and act with purpose. This not only applies to students, but to the staff of Lovington High School as well.
Mr. Otto embodies a quiet yet unwavering confidence that inspires everyone around them. Whether facing challenges or everyday tasks, his calm assurance in handling situations radiates to the students, giving them a sense of security and belief in their own abilities. By leading with poise and a clear vision, Mr. Otto creates an environment where students feel empowered to tackle obstacles, knowing they have someone who believes in them, no matter the circumstance.
Not only has Diana Villalobos exhibited exceptional adaptability as she recovered from surgery, she exemplifies confidence. She works on her own in class and is diligent about asking questions to understand new concepts. She has upmost confidence in her work as she learns new ideas and procedures. She has a wonderful willingness to learn which is reflected in her confidence-filled assignments. I appreciate her work ethic, her determination, and her willingness to learn.
Students were asked to research a topic and present a class discussion with slides. Camila and Madison covered core values and incorporated the characteristics of Portrait of a Wildcat. They delivered an AMAZING presentation using confidence and left the class with the question: "How often do we put core values into action aside from our own convenience?" It was delivered with confidence and sparked an excellent discussion for all students and encouraged them to incorporate these traits within their daily routine! Way to go Camila and Madison!
