Attendance
Parents and Guardians,
We hope this message finds you well as we settle into the rhythm of the new school year! We want to share some important updates regarding school attendance that are in accordance with Indiana law.
In accordance with Indiana Code 20-33-2.5, we must inform you that school attendance is a legal requirement in Indiana. This year, there are new updates regarding attendance procedures. To ensure that all students receive the education they deserve, schools are legally required to hold an attendance conference with a parent or guardian once a student has five unexcused absences in a ten-week period. Please refer to our student handbook for more detailed information regarding absences.
We firmly believe that consistent attendance in all classes is vital to your child’s academic success, and we appreciate your partnership in ensuring this. We encourage you to discuss the importance of regular attendance with your child, reinforcing the value of being present and engaged in their education.
We appreciate your continued support and partnership. It is your involvement that makes our school community strong. We look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
NWEA Early Literacy Screener
Children in grades K-2 will be taking an NWEA Early Literacy Screener (required by SB 217) during the assessment window of 8/19-8/30. This assessment will help us learn more about your child’s foundational reading skills. It will share a child’s strengths in reading as well as if a child might exhibit signs of reading difficulties, including characteristics of dyslexia. We look forward to learning more about your child as a reader.
Children in grades 3-5 will be taking the NWEA Adaptive Oral Reading assessment this year during the assessment window of 8/19-8/30. This assessment gives us information about your child as a reader.
Lunch with your Child
We will start welcoming parents and guardians on September 9th with a background check on file in the office. Visitors may eat lunch at a separate table with their child; no other students will be able to join the adult and child. *Please note that NO restaurant-to-go type foods or sodas are allowed in the cafeteria. You can sign your child out to take them to lunch instead. Visitors are not permitted to go out to recess. If you would like a school lunch you must call the office (317-773-0582) before 9:00 a.m. to order ahead.

In-home Child Identification Kits - Coming home this week
Dear Parent,
Noblesville Schools will be distributing an in-home child identification kit to k-5 students as a gift of safety on behalf of the State of Indiana. Please understand that there is no obligation to fill out the kit, but it will allow you to have a set of fingerprints and DNA for your child. If the unthinkable occurs, you have important information that you can turn over to law enforcement immediately.
The kit is invaluable to law enforcement as a time saving tool during a most chaotic time.
These kits are to be STORED AT HOME in a safe and accessible place and only turned over to law enforcement in an emergency. The information will never be collected and put into a database.
As your child’s Principal, I am always looking for ways to protect our students from harm or assist in their safety.
Please make use of this gift, fill it out and let’s hope it is never used.
