Hello GMSS families,

We had a wonderful 6th grade adventure day this week and were so pleased with our students behaviors! We appreciate all of our parents volunteers and hope the students enjoyed the day as much as our staff did!

As you know our Color Splash Fundraiser was moved to next Friday, October 4th! Please continue to make donations using https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=BXU42BWWH8SFA&scrlybrkr=faf89aad

In addition- students can purchase swag in lunches from $1- $10 all next week. Items include Leis, sunglasses, headbands and tutus to be worn on Friday! All students will be participating in the game day, but all do not have to join in the color throwing! In addition, only students with a minimum of a $5.00 donation will get color packets. Thank you in advance for your support!

Parent teacher conference links went out! We know that 6th grade links are full. Please email Mrs. Hensler if you cannot schedule and she will begin a wait list. Hello South Families! We are pleased to announce our clubs and activities available to students - if you have any questions about a club, please reach out to Ms. Bonath [bonatha@gjps.org] or the advisor for each club. See the chart for available times and dates of meetings!

CLUBS

Each week I will share about a way that we recognize students at GMSS - This week’s student recognition update: Academic Award - Comeback Kid! At the conclusion of each quarter, students who move up at least one letter grade in one subject regardless of their other grades, receive this award. Students are recognized iin several ways - a chromebook sticker is given out to each winner, their names are broadcast in our main lobby in the Academic Hall of Fame, they receive Survivor Team points, and we send a certificate home. Stay tuned for more, next week!

Our PTO is sponsoring our COLOR SPLASH fundraiser this year and every student will be involved! The fundraiser event is Friday, October 4th. All donations go directly to GMSS. PTO president and vice president came in to meet with students today! This is our one and only fundraiser!

The winning Homeroom will win a catered luncheon!

PTO has been handing out prizes and free KONA ICE tickers all week for our students that have donated! All donations have gone into a drawing at lunch!

Our PTO meetings are the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm. We run our meetings virtually and hope to have many attend!
