I would like to continue to extend a warm welcome to any new Fox Families and a giant HELLO to all returning families!

This is a weekly newsletter that will be sent out each Sunday evening. Inside this newsletter you will find important upcoming dates, weekly happenings at Fox, as well as resources to refer back to such as the Caregiver Handbook and RPS School Calendar!

• August 15th- K/New Student Orientation/Meet the Teacher- 4-6 pm
• August 19th-1st day of school for the '24-'25 school year!
• August 19-Sept. 6-Registration Window for Fox PTA Afterschool Enrichment programs
• August 27th-Back to School Night- 6pm
• August 30th-NO SCHOOL (RPS Labor Day Weekend Holiday)
• September 2-NO SCHOOL (Labor Day Holiday)

Hopefully you have heard by now that STUDENTS are required to have CLEAR backpacks next year. Students are allowed to carry a small pouch for personal items and a lunchbox. See the full policy here:

RPS WILL provide one CLEAR backpack for every student!

Hopefully, we will have them in time to pass out at our Open House on Aug. 15. If not, we will give them out when we receive them! In the meantime, keep in mind that you cannot send your students to school with a regular back pack--even on the first day!

Our Student information Systems have rolled over to the new year and we are finalizing classroom assignments. We will mail classroom assignment letters by August 8.

If you know of any families who have not fully completed registration with ALL documents, please encourage them to complete this process. Classroom assignments cannot be made until registration is completed! Additionally----they cannot receive this weekly email/school information until everything is completed!!!! (but feel free to share it!)

Please see the letter below that is full of important information about school that will be mailed home with the class assignment by Aug. 8!

Fox will no longer have a bus to take students to the Randolph Community Center for after care. In response to this, the FOX YMCA will be expanding it's services to be able to accommodate more students and only cost $70 PER SEMESTER (that is $140 for the entire year of after care until 6 pm each school day!).

Register NOW if you are looking for an aftercare option for your Fox Student! Spots will fill up fast!

If you already registered your student for the Randolph Community Center, you should have received an email with info. You will receive a full refund if you already paid for RCC aftercare! However, you still need to register for the YMCA in order for your student to attend the aftercare program.

Our PTA Coordinates and Supplements afterschool enrichment opportunities for students. See below for the Fall class offerings, dates, and cost. Families that are able, are strongly encouraged to pay extra to support our scholarships. There are half-priced scholarships available for those that want their child to have the opportunity, but have a financial need. Please take advantage of this opportunity!

Please register promptly on the 19th if you're planning to take advantage of need-based, half-priced tuition, as there are a limited number of these spots available across all programs. This support is made possible thanks to PTA fundraising efforts and your contributions! Opportunities to further grow our scholarship fund will be available when you register your child.

Just a reminder: Daily aftercare offered by the YMCA is separate from enrichment programming.

Please read the Parent Handbook! It is full of important procedures/policies/info that is helpful for families!

A hard copy will come home with your students on the first day of school!

The boards are coming off and the Windows and roof are being done! Exciting PROGRESS! We are still on track to be back in the Hanover Building for the 2025-26 school year!

Every Fox student has HOMEWORK EVERY day. ALL students should read or be read to for 20 minutes daily! If you need some books to read at home, let your child's teacher, our school counselor, CIS worker know. We are HAPPY to have your child pick out some books to take home. Also, check out and use the "Reading Library" that is located at the front of the school.

Research shows that READING EVERY EVENING is the one thing that WILL SET YOUR CHILD UP FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS.

3rd, 4th, 5th grade students will have up to an additional 30 minutes of homework as well (math practice, comprehension practice, studying etc). Teachers/grade levels will communicate homework to their class.
