School-Wide Theme for the Year
At St. Joseph Catholic School, each and every day we are training students to be missionary disciples, and learning to recognize God in our lives and in the world around us,
with hearts full of CHARITY for our fellow man.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a nurturing and prayerful learning environment committed to academic excellence, training missionary disciples to seek virtue, wisdom, and truth, in partnership with a community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
Motto:
Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
From the Principal
I had the honor of attending the American Way Awards this past Sunday, where two eighth grade students (one girl and one boy) from all the schools around the diocese were recognized for their love of God and country. This is the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters of the Americas sixty-fourth annual award ceremony.
Everyone present had the honor of listening to Retired Colonel Donald R. Grannan speak on the worth of integrity. He asked the students what their integrity means to them. What is it worth? He told them their integrity would be tested in life. The Christian values and morals they learn to embrace now, will continue to serve them well in the future, as long as they are willing to protect them, to continue to live by them. The erosion of the sanctity of human life does not happen overnight. It happens when people "sell" a little of their integrity, bit by bit, when choosing to do wrong. The more you participate in "selling" your integrity, the easier and easier it gets. Don't fall into this trap. Fight back by highly valuing your integrity.
Colonel Grannan feels that Catholic education is key to shaping the future of our country. He told the students that we are counting on them to be able to guard their integrity, for they are the future of our nation. I wholeheartedly agree. The students of St. Joseph Catholic School are our future. The future is worth the effort and sacrifice. God bless our country, and God bless our Knights!
In Christ's service,
Diane Price, Ed.L.

Stephen Breen Basketball Tournament
SJCS has 4 boy teams and 2 girl teams combined with SMG. The tournament will begin on February 28th and will host Championships on March 8th. All games are held at Nolan High School. Once brackets are completed they will be posted online at https://www.teamsideline.com/sites/fwdioc/home for everyone to view. If you have spirit groups, cheerleaders, dance teams, or band that would like to do a halftime show, please let me know. We can come up with a time to highlight your campus and show off the wonderful things you are doing.
This tournament is more than just basketball, it’s about community. Bringing all of us together is a rare and important opportunity that benefits each of our campuses while we help to raise funds for the Stephen Breen Memorial Foundation. This tournament is special and very dear to the tournament committee members who tirelessly work to provide a positive experience for our athletes and our community. Many of us didn’t know Stephen personally, but 20 years after his passing we all know the wonderful things his foundation continues to do for our Catholic community with tuition assistance at each of our 17 campuses and helping area families who are afflicted with childhood cancer. Stephen loved participating in this basketball tournament when it was the ‘Fr. Luke Wildcat Challenge.’ We namesake the tournament in his memory and deemed all proceeds will go to help his foundation’s mission. We are better, together!
The Stephen Breen Memorial Basketball Tournament is an annual end of season diocesan tournament that celebrates the life of Stephen Breen and provides support to his foundation. Stephen was an alumnus of Saint Andrew Catholic School and continued his Catholic education at Nolan Catholic High School.
At the age of 13, Stephen was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. With the odds stacked against him, Stephen fought his disease with great courage for 16 months and inspired many with his humor, perseverance, and concern for others despite his difficult battle.
On October 4, 2004 Stephen passed away and his foundation was created. Honoring his wishes, the Stephen Breen Memorial Foundation offers tuition assistance to children who wish to receive a Catholic school education and assistance to families who have children that are also battling cancer. https://www.stephenbreenmemorialfoundation.org/
Please join us as we celebrate Stephen and our school basketball teams at Nolan Catholic from February 28th – March 8th. You can support the foundation by purchasing limited edition spirit gear at https://www.yoomarkit.com/prod-cat/breen. FREE ADMISSION when you wear your 2025 spirit gear! Schedule to be posted soon.
SJCS will allow 2025 t-shirts to be worn during school with uniform bottoms on NON-Mass days during the tournament time. 28th Feb to 8th March. Please consider coming out to support SJCS and our catholic community. Games will be held Monday - Saturday.
