Principal's Message
What a beautiful week of warm weather we have had. It is always fun when the sun comes out this time of year to see our students out and about playing with friends before school, during lunch, and at the end of the day when school gets out.
As great as the weather was, what really filled my bucket this week was getting to watch two amazing performing arts events. The first was the opening nights of our Spring musical, Hadestown. The production was amazing. The smiles on students' faces after the performance lit up our hallways. I am so proud of our students and staff who have worked so hard to make this event come to fruition.
The second event was getting to see our Advanced Band perform at the District Band Festival. I had the pleasure of being able to sneak away from school to catch their performance. While I may be a bit biased, I thought the sound fantastic and represented our school and music program tremendously well. More information below about this performance.
Hadestown the Musical Goes On
If you missed the opening night of our Spring Musical, Hadestown, there are still 5 more shows to catch!
You can purchase your tickets ahead of time through SchoolPay or pay at the door. There is a suggested $10 amount per ticket.
Even if you don't have a student in the performance, coming to the musical is a great way to experience the artistic talent and passion of our students. We hope you can come out to see a show and support performing arts here at da Vinci.

Art in Action @ da Vinci
On March 6th the da Vinci Advanced band traveled to Jackson Middle School for the PPS Middle School band festival. The band performed 3 songs, got great ratings, and then got to work with a clinician to improve their performance skills.
Following da Vinci's performance the students were able to watch many of the other middle school bands perform before they headed back to school at the end of the day. See the picture below for how great the looked!

Is Your Student Interested in Track and Field
If so, please take a moment to read through this document from PIL Youth Sports. Track and Field is a great way to participate in a Spring activity with students that will eventually head to your student’s high school.
Remember, the beauty of Track and Field is that you don’t have to be the fastest, jump the furthest, or throw the javelin the longests. You just need to work on being better tomorrow than you are today.
