Family Heart Art
We've had some great additions to our front display case! Stop by the lobby and check it out!
All families are invited to create works of heART for our front lobby display case! Be as creative as you can as a family and we'll put your work on display! Families are encouraged to work together using whatever materials they like (2D or 3D is acceptable). Students can bring their Heart Art to the front office once complete (make sure your name is on it!). If you need some starter ideas, check out these sites for inspiration:

Our clothing closet could use a little assistance if your family is willing! We're in need of several sizes for boys who might need a change of clothes throughout the day. Any help is appreciated. They can be new or gently used (washed is preferred). Thank you!

Sweetheart Dance this week!
Only Opequon students are able to attend. Sorry, no siblings.
PTO- A great way to get involved at OES
PTO is our Parent Teacher Organization that meets monthly share ideas on how we can pour into students and staff, think of fun ideas, volunteer, and hear about what's going on at the school. We fundraise and find ways to support Opequon students and staff. All monies raised stay at the school. Our next PTO meeting is February 12th @ 4:00 in the OES Library. We hope to see you there!
SMART 529 Essay Contest
West Virginia children in grades K-5 can enter to win $5,000 in a SMART529 college savings account by writing about their future. It’s fun and easy. Here’s how it works: A child writes a short essay that begins with “When I grow up, I want to be a…”. They then tell why they chose that career. Parents and teachers can help children with their essays. The entries are broken down into three grade categories and five regions. The essays of 15 children are selected by a panel of judges, and those children are awarded a $500 SMART529 college savings account. The winners’ school (or homeschool association) also receives a $500 cash prize. The names of the 15 winners are then placed into a random drawing for the grand prize, which is an additional $4,500 in their SMART529 college savings account. DEADLINE is Feb.28, 2025
