Walking Pass Policy

Only students with walking passes are permitted to walk onto campus in the morning or walk off campus after school. Walking Passes are issued to students who live within a mile of the school. Temporary passes will not be issued for other students (i.e. friends, cousins, significant others) to walk with students who have walking passes.

Early Dismissal Policy Reminder

Students requiring early dismissal must bring a note from their parents on the day of dismissal to the attendance office in order to obtain an early dismissal pass. All requests are to be in the attendance office prior to 8:15am. The note must have a phone number at which the parent may be contacted and a parent signature. If the note cannot be verified, the student will not be allowed to leave campus.

When it is time for students to leave, they will give their pass to their teacher and leave class to drive off campus or wait at the attendance window. Students who do not bring a note for a pre-arranged medical or legal appointment must remain in class until the period ends before they will be permitted to sign out of school with their parent/guardian.

Absolutely no emails or phone calls will be accepted.

Congratulations to Jasmine Green and Caroline Kay for placing in the Top 16 of the Solo Acting Competition and Ireland Bridgeman for placing in the Top 18 of the Solo Musical Theatre Competition through the SC Theatre Association. They will compete live in the finals next weekend November 8 and 9 at Claflin University.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Failure: A Love Story” by Philip Dawkins for their Superior Rating at the 2024 All County Theatre Festival. They also received Best Ensemble, and the following students were named to the All-Star Cast: Jasmine Green, Noah Jeffords, and Caroline Kay.
Next up for the cast and crew is the South Carolina Theatre Association (SCTA) One Act Play Competition which is November 8-10 at Claflin University.

for the first time since 2015, earning Friday Night Rival's Week 9 Trophy. Carolina Forest won this matchup 52-38 in an electric offensive duel, with star Junior Running back Jaryn Fox accounting for 381 AP Yards and 5 TOUCHDOWNS.

Ed-Op Days at HCS

On October 7-9, Horry County Schools hosted its annual Educational Opportunity Days, or Ed-Op Days. College admissions officers from South Carolina and beyond visited 11 different schools around the county to talk to high school juniors and seniors about the college and career opportunities available to them.
