PBIS Memory Booster
Multiple times each year students go through PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) lessons to remind them and boost their memory about our Northtowne school-wide behavior expectations. The Fall Booster is underway right now! During these Booster lessons students will complete our annual rules and expectation lesson for our building common areas.
Definitions of our school-wide expectations are as follows:
- Respect at Northtowne means treating people, places and things in a way that show you care
- Responsibility at Northtowne means making good choices and being accountable for your actions
- Focus at Northtowne means putting all your energy into one task
Our common areas are identified as: Arrival/Dismissal Spaces, Restroom, Cafeteria, Office, Hallways, Recess, Bus, and Classroom.
Memory Booster dates for the 2024-25 school year
- Fall Booster, November 4th-15th
- Winter Booster, January 13th-24th
- Spring Booster April 7th-16th
Pre-K Classrooms Get High Recognition
Have you noticed the new banner attached to the front wall of the school? It recognizes that our Northtowne Pre-K classrooms have achieved the highest rating possible in the Step Up To Quality system. Step Up To Quality is a quality rating and improvement system administered by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth. Step Up To Quality recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality program standards that exceed preschool licensing health and safety regulations. This is a major accomplishment for our Pre-K classrooms! Many thanks and congratulations to our teachers Ms Cole and Mr Aldridge and classroom assistants Ms Rogers, Ms Weber, and MS Barron!!

Holiday Break Childcare
Students and staff might be excited about the upcoming week long Fall Break. But we do understand that long school breaks can add stress to families if all household adults are working and unable to take time off. The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has programing in place to help with this exact concern.
Registration for School's Out Fall is now open!
Do your students need something to do during Wellness Week? Look no further than your local community center! School’s Out Fall opens community centers for extended hours during Columbus City Schools’ Wellness Week, Nov. 25-29 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
