MESSAGE FROM JASON WESLEY
Dear Parcells Families,
Another fantastic week at Parcells has come to a close, filled with exciting accomplishments and meaningful moments. One of the highlights was the remarkable tech competition, which truly showcased the creativity and innovation of our students. It was an inspiring event that demonstrated the incredible talent within our community. Additionally, we held our very first medallion ceremony, a special occasion that was both memorable and moving, celebrating the hard work and dedication of our students. As we continue to move forward, we are focused on making consistent improvements in how we approach education, ensuring that we provide the best possible learning experiences for our children. Our commitment to fostering an environment of growth, excellence, and support remains at the forefront, and we are excited to keep building on the successes of each week.
Next week we have two full days of school before Thanksgiving Break. Enjoy your family time!

PARCELLS GIVES BACK
Family and Consumer Sciences classes participated in a district wide service learning project this week. Students from Parcells and Brownell cooked and carved 50+ turkeys graciously donated by Sean and Nancy Cotton. North and South Culinary students cooked and donated all the fixings, and Pierce students added a sweet treat! We are so proud of our students' hard work to execute this turkey dinner, and very thankful to the Motor City Mitten Mission for allowing us to contribute to their community outreach. Our meal delivery is served on the final day of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, and is truly appreciated by Ms. Gail and the MCMM staff.
We couldn't do this without the community support! Thank you to everyone who donated items to make this possible!

PTO NEWS
Ways to Volunteer at Parcells
There’s a variety of volunteer opportunities (with flexible options) to help out at Parcells–after school and on weekends too! Commit as little or as much as your schedule allows.
Parcells Wild Wednesdays. It’s just a 1-hour time commitment after school on various Wednesdays throughout the year. Sign up HERE to volunteer for Wild Wednesdays.
Parcells Holiday Bazaar. The Parcells Holiday Art and Craft Bazaar is an annual tradition for our school and surrounding community. In fact, this Saturday, December 7th is the 49th year! This holiday tradition wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of PTO volunteer planners, area vendors, and all the helping hands. Here’s how you can help make this year another success:
Adult volunteers are needed for 2-hour time slots to set up on the afternoon/evening before and the day of the event. Please click HERE for the Bazaar volunteer sign-up sheet.
Student volunteers are also GREATLY needed and appreciated to help the event run smoothly. Please click HERE for the student volunteer sign-up sheet. This is a great way for NJHS and NHS students to get in their volunteer hours. All student volunteers are welcome to help, just sign up in advance.
Donations for the Parcells Holiday Bazaar student-run concession area are greatly appreciated. All donations should be dropped off in the Bazaar bin in the vestibule outside the office no later than Friday, December 6th. Click HERE for a sign-up list of items needed.
Attend the Wednesday, November 27th Holiday Bazaar planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the library. Special note, we are looking for people to take leadership roles in planning the 2025 Parcells Holiday Bazaar, our 50th year. If you are interested and would like more details, please join the meeting this next Wednesday, or email us at ptoparcells@gmail.com.

OFFICE NEWS
- Please talk to your child the night before or in the morning before school about any after school plans. It is disruptive to get messages to the students during class time. WE UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES THERE ARE LAST MINUTE CHANGES AND THAT IS OK TO CALL FOR!!!
- Students should not be calling home because they forgot something unless the teacher asks them to. This is also disruptive to class time. Please instill in your child the importance of planning ahead. If you drop something off to your student during the school day your student will get an email to their schoology. Please remind them to check their schoology email throughout the school day. Calling the classrooms is very disruptive. Thank you for your understanding.
- After the school bell rings in the morning the only entrance that should be used is the one along Sunningdale at the end of the GP Woods Library Parking Lot. The door is called the H door and it is PARCELLS SECURE ENTRANCE. This is also the door that students should come in if they are late or parents should come in if needing to enter the building during the school day.
ATTENDANCE LINE
If your student is staying home for any reason please call the attendance line at 313-432-4601 or email hargera@gpschools.org and leave a reason for the absence.
