From the Nurse's Office
Boyne Falls Public School has had an uptick in lice cases recently. Please check your students and talk to them about lice and not sharing hair brushes, scarves, headbands, etc. Thank you for doing your part in mitigating the spread.
BFPS is obligated to report lice cases to the health department, so please inform the school office if your child has lice.

The Well-Being of Our Community is a Top Priority!
There are multiple areas that contribute to the well-being of an individual. These include emotional, social, spiritual, physical, environmental, occupational, and intellectual. While each is important on its own, together they form the foundation of our well-being! In school, the well-being of our students helps ensure the highest potential for learning. Part of that learning process includes our staff. Therefore, their well-being is equally important to the education process and the success of your child. To help our school incorporate well-being into our day, we applied for and were awarded the Building Healthy Communities: Step Up for School Wellness program. This program provides resources and support for our students and staff around physical activity, physical education, healthy eating, nutrition education, social & emotional health, and overall well-being strategies. The program allows our school to select from a variety of resources each year and implement the program at our pace. This year we were awarded the "Quality Physical Education Grant" which will provide us with the Exemplary Physical Education Curriculum TM and equipment to expand our physical education program.
Our School Health Team includes a dedicated team of educators, school administrators, support staff, and students, who will work together to implement this program throughout the school year. As part of this process, we will have the opportunity to evaluate our successes, apply for more resources next year to fill any gaps, and always ensure that our school meets the health needs of students, their families, and our staff. Please look forward to getting regular updates on our program progress.
