Important Reminders
Welcome back Weaver families, we hope you had a wonderful and relaxing break. We are looking forward to seeing all of our Wildcats back in the building on Monday morning. With only 3 weeks until Winter Break, please make sure to check out the "Upcoming Dates and Events" section to keep up with all the activities taking place at Weaver. Also please remember the following:
- As the weather turns colder, please remember to send students to school with coats, gloves, hats, etc. Students will have outdoor recess unless the temperature/wind chill is 29 degrees or below.
- If your student is missing a coat/jacket or any other clothing, please encourage them to check the Lost and Found.
- If your student is going to be absent, call the office at (417)523-1200 and let Sussie know.
- Please call the office before 2:30 if you have a transportation change for your student.
- If you would like to shout-out your student's teacher or any other Weaver staff member, see the information below, and fill out the form.

AMI Packet Information
"Parents - please be on the lookout for your child's AMI packet this week. When you receive this, please put it in a safe place so that you and your child can find it during inclement weather school days as needed. As a reminder, here are the AMI instructions:
Transistional Transfer Window-Closes December 6th
Parents of fifth-graders: Do you want to choose which middle school your child will attend next year? If so, you must submit a Transitional Transfer request by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6th. For details, go to www.sps.org/transfers.

And here is our turkey now!
We will continue this attendance challenge until we leave for Winter Break on December 20th. Now that our turkey has lots of colorful feathers, students will begin adding snowflakes around it for every 4 days that they have perfect attendance.
Cookie Decorating Party
In addition to the "We are SNOW THANKFUL you are here" challenge we are going to celebrate students who have great attendance by having a cookie decorating party on December 20th. Any student who has 95% attendance or higher at the end of our current attendance challenge will be invited to attend. In order for a student to qualify to attend the cookie party, they can miss no more than 1.5 days of school from November 6th-December 20th.

Conscious Discipline: The 5 Steps of Self-Regulation
Self-regulation is the ability to understand and manage your behavior and reactions to feelings and things happening around you. It includes being able to: regulate reactions to strong emotions, calm down after something exciting or upsetting, and focus on a task.
5 Steps to Self-Regulation
- I Am- becoming aware that something has triggered an emotion
- I Calm- breathing deeply and noticing emotions without judging them
- I Feel- identifying and naming the emotion (Name it to tame it)
- I Choose- accepting the feeling and choose a calming activity to help me self-regulate
- I Solve- now in a calmer state, solve the problem that originally triggered the emotion
