Every year the Texas Music Educators Association has a conference in San Antonio. The All-State Band, Orchestra and Choir is held conjunction with this annual conference. Below are some photos of our All-State musicians and some rehearsal clips. One of the Symphonic Band clips has the trumpet professor from UT rehearsing with them.

Monday is our 4th IRELAND Rehearsal. We will be marching more and memorizing music.

February 22nd is our Ensemble Recital. This event is to showcase the individual small group ensembles that is part of our curriculum for instrumental music students. This is a recital format that will be in multiple large rooms at WHS. This is an intimate setting that will have an audience in each recital, and an adjudicator to give a division score for their performance (like UIL). We want ALL PARENTS TO ATTEND. Each recital group will be around 45-50 minutes long.

We look forward to another "normal" event with these great musicians.

While the wind players have their recital on Tuesday 2/22, the Percussion have a concert that includes grades 6-12 percussionists, on Saturday 2/26. This is a fun concert that features all of our feeder schools and the talented TWB percussion students. There is also an adjudicator to give a division score for their performance (like UIL).

Here is a picture of the dress code. Don't get upset if we get you for dress a code violation...it's part of our job. Your job is to comply with the dress code. I'll give you an analogy. Sometimes I speed in my car. I have been stopped a couple times in my 32 years of driving and I received a citation or two, and did not argue with the officer because I knew I was speeding. I stopped speeding (mostly), it just was not worth the consequence.

So, our boss (who pays me millions) says we need to send a referral for dress code violations...we will do what they tell us to do...and don't get me started on how easy the dress code is compared to what it used to be. If you do not agree with the dress code, please make a meeting with our principal and see if you can make your case in front of the school board.

Probably easier just to be in dress code: however, if you want to "fight the man", more power to you...but just be in dress code until you get it changed.
