Headteacher's Bulletin
10/05/24 - Edition 26
Highlights of the week
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful and much-needed bank holiday! Despite the shorter week, we have packed in a lot of exciting progress and positive news.
A special congratulations to our Year 11 students who have approached their first GCSE written exams with the utmost professionalism. Your dedication shines through, and a heartfelt thank you goes out to our exceptional exams team for ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your hard work makes a significant difference to our students' experience.
A big well done as well to our Year 7s and the 42 Year 9 Heroes who have completed their final sessions with Humanutopia today. This mentorship programme has played a crucial role in uniting the Twickenham School community, fostering support and encouragement throughout.
We are delighted to share that we are expanding our team next year as the school continues to grow. Richmond Local Authority has asked us to welcome an extra tutor group into Year 7 due to our very long waiting list. After careful analysis and planning, we are thrilled to offer these additional places to more families, which is excellent news for Twickenham School and our wider community.
Finally, with the sun shining at last, I wish you all a warm and relaxing weekend!
Seedlings for the Sustainable ambassadors
Any seeds or plant shoots would be really appreciated as the planters are now ready due to the hard work of our Sustainable ambassadors. Please can these be brought to school next week and passed on to Mr Tabron in S12.
TS Spotlight - Enrichment at Twickenham School
The latest edition of TS Spotlight can be read here. It focuses on experience & opportunity through enrichment at Twickenham School and was written by Mr Hayes, Associate Assistant Headteacher & Head of PE
Prom outfits
We believe that every student has the right to feel special and make lasting memories at their school prom. With that in mind, our inclusion team have started to gather up a collection of prom outfits to lend to Year 11 students who might otherwise struggle to purchase an outfit for a one off occasion.
Any donations of fancy dresses, jumpsuits, heels, shoes, suits, costume jewellery etc would be greatly appreciated. Please can any donations be dropped off at the school reception.
All you need to know about apprenticeships
There is still a lot of education and awareness needed on what opportunities are out there, and how students can secure an apprenticeship – so during this 1-hour free webinar Pathway CTM will start at the beginning and talk you through all of the basics from start – to finish!
Twickenham's Got Talent
Tickets for this fantastic event are available on sQuid. Purchase early to avoid disappointment as we are sure to sell out!
