Principal's Message
It’s finally Spring! The nights will start to get longer, the flowers will begin to bloom, and the weather will eventually get warmer. As the weather warms up, everyone starts to look forward to summer vacation. It is hard to believe that we have begun the last grading period of the school year. It is important to encourage our students to continue to work hard on their academics and display appropriate behavior in school. This is a very busy time of the year, and it will go by quickly.
Getting to school on time and starting the day with classmates is extremely important for young scholars. Beginning the morning with classmates allows the students to participate in daily routines and gets the students off to a great start every morning. Please try to ensure that your scholar is in school each day on time. Let’s commit to finishing the year strong!
Kindergarten registration has begun! This year kindergarten Registration is completely online. Please do not wait to register. It is extremely important to register any student who will turn five years old on or before September 30, 2024, for kindergarten as soon as possible. Visit the district website at www.MapleSchools.com to begin the registration process.
We wish you a wonderful and safe Spring Break, and we look forward to returning to a productive end of the school year. Thank you for being our partner in education!
PreK Message
Hello Preschool families,
Spring is officially here and we are looking forward to warmer weather and more time outside. Please dress your children for the weather, as preschool does go outside daily and our mission is to keep your little one comfy and safe. Also, just a gentle reminder, No Crocs or open toe shoes, as they are not ideal for outdoor play.
On April 8th, 2024, Abraham Lincoln will be closed in observance of the Solar Eclipse. This is a teachable experience, so I encourage families to visit the Maple Heights Library for resources including solar eclipse glasses and box solar eclipse pinhole projectors to safely view and enjoy this celestial experience!
Important Dates:
-April 2nd, Students return to school from Spring Break
-April 8th, Solar Eclipse Day (No School)
-May 20th, Preschool Celebration
As to be expected, families are eager to celebrate their preschool student moving on to kindergarten and we are pleased to announce that we have officially confirmed Monday, May 20th, 2024. More details to follow. You can register your children for kindergarten using the button above.

Lincoln's Social Groups Permission Form
Form for Parents
The school counseling department at Abraham Lincoln School wants to make you aware of our Social Groups. Students may or may not be chosen to participate in a group, but by giving permission it allows more flexibility to prepare groups. Some of the groups offered are:
1. Social Club, a group that focuses on social skills and helping students develop friendships. Some children might be shy, nervous about making friends or having difficulty making and keeping friends. During this group your child will develop social skills that will contribute to making and keeping friends in an environment that will respect differences and encourage acceptance.
2. Kids Supporting Kids group, which focuses on helping students identify and understand their thoughts and feelings associated with grief and loss. Because your child has experienced loss/separation or death of a loved one, we wish to provide them with the opportunity to participate in the group. During the group sessions, your child will develop positive coping skills, learn from the experiences of others and receive positive peer support.
3. Regulation Club, a group that focuses on self-regulation skills and helping student express themselves. During group sessions, your child will learn strategies to self-regulate and use their words to express themselves.
These groups will meet once a week for approximately 10 weeks. Please click the Social Groups Permission form button below. If you have any questions about the groups, please feel free to contact Rebecca Zverina, School Counselor at (216) 438-6030 x5030, rebecca.zverina@mapleschools.com
