Exciting News: Meet Stanley, Our New Four-Legged Greeter!
Dear Davis Families,
Get ready for tail wags and smiles! We're thrilled to announce a furry addition to our Monday morning welcome committee. Starting September 30th, students will have the chance to meet Stanley, our new certified therapy dog!
Who is Stanley?
Stanley is a 2½-year-old golden retriever with a heart of gold and a smile for everyone he meets. This gentle giant knows over 40 commands and has a special motto: "Be a golden. I love everyone and am here to help and bring a smile to all."
A Trained Professional
Rest assured, Stanley isn't just any dog. He's a certified therapy dog through Healing Paws, a part of Anderson Humane Society. This means he's specially trained to interact safely and calmly with children in school settings.
Meet His Partner
Stanley will be accompanied by his partner, Mrs. Louise Von Hoff, a retired teacher who recognized Stanley's potential to brighten students' days. Together, they'll be greeting students every Monday morning, rotating between different entrances.
What to Expect
As students enter the building, they'll have the option to give Stanley a little pet or simply wave hello. There's no pressure – Stanley is happy just to see smiling faces!
Did You Know?
Stanley also spreads joy as a greeter at Bell-Graham School
He absolutely loves praise and interacting with students
His golden retriever charm is 100% guaranteed to start your week off right
We're incredibly fortunate to have Mrs. Von Hoff and Stanley join our Davis community. We can't wait for your children to experience the warmth and joy that Stanley brings to our school!
Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready for a pawsitively fantastic Monday morning!
Do you want to help kick cancer? The Davis Student Council is helping St Charles East and St Charles North High Schools raise money to help people who are affected by cancer. Bring in coins or bills next week, September 23rd-27th, to drop in your class container. Ask your parents how you can help make money to make a difference. Let’s help Davis bring change to make change. Every penny counts!
Davis is excited to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month which is celebrated nationally from September 15 through October 15.
Hispanic Heritage Month exists to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. We celebrate those who have contributed to our shared history and championed and inspired all to achieve success.

🧴🩹🩺 News from the Nurse 🩺🩹🧴
To avoid injuries, please make sure your child has appropriate shoes for running and climbing on the playground equipment. Sandals with heels and Crocs are not recommended. Tennis/Gym shoes are what is preferred.
Classroom Food Allergy/Sensitivities letters have been sent home. Please be mindful when sending classroom snacks for your children.
Many of our Kindergarten students continue to not be in compliance with their paperwork. Please continue to work on getting their Physicals, Record of Immunizations, Dental and Vision exams to me asap. I prefer that you email the documents (a picture of the documents will do) directly to me if at all possible, at Peggy.Faught@d303.org.
Thank you to everyone who has sent in extra clothing for our students. We are still in need for elastic-waist pants, sizes 5-10.

Your child has a persistent and or productive cough
Children should be fever free without the use of medications before returning to school

If your child is not fully recovered or remained at home for the recommended length of time, parents may be contacted and asked to take the child home.
