Summer Opportunity: RunnerGirl Project
RunnerGirl Project is a summer running club for elementary-aged girls going into 1st-7th grade. It was founded by Willett alum Avery Wolk with the idea of doing her part to close the participation gap in the sport of running. Did you know that over 50,000 fewer girls than boys competed in high school cross country last season? That's almost 1.3x more boys.
The RunnerGirl Project is designed not as a training group but as a fun way to introduce girls into the sport of running. It's very similar to Girls on the Run, except it's available in the summer and unaffiliated with any school. It is also completely free to join! Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-8pm at Arroyo Park in West Davis. We offer 7 weeks and 14 total practices, beginning July 7 and ending August 20.
If you would like more information, please don't hesitate to check out the website: https://sites.google.com/view/runnergirl-project/home
