Daniel Webster Elementary School
Weekly Update:
A Message From Mrs. MacNeil
Greetings DWS Families!
I cannot wait to welcome your children on Tuesday, August 30! We have been busy all summer preparing for their return. The building just doesn't feel the same without them. I look forward to a great school year!
In Partnership,
Mrs. MacNeil
DWS Security Updates
As a security measure, we will not be letting visitors into the building unless you are volunteering. Visitors who have a scheduled meeting will wait in the vestibule and be escorted by the host to the meeting.
All visitors must present a valid ID - no exceptions! We understand that we know many parents/guardians, but we will be requiring ALL visitors to present their ID when they volunteer and/or pick up a student - EVERY TIME. This will be frustrating at first, but we are working hard to maintain the safety of our students.
Start With Hello Week
Events include:
Wednesday & Thursday (8/31 & 9/1)- “Just say Hello”
Students will wear name tags during the school day & say “hello” by addressing others by name.
Wednesday (9/7)- “Welcome Back Wednesday”
Students will be greeted at the door by members of our community: police, fire, & Administration
Thursday (9/8) - “Attitude of Gratitude”
We will create an attitude of gratitude in our school community with a special activity.
Friday (9/9) “Marshfield Spirit Day ”
Students and Staff will wear their Marshfield Gear and or Marshfield Green.

Welcome Kindergarten Families
We will be hosting Kindergarten Orientation on Tuesday, August 30. Invitations and information were handed out at the Kindergarten Playdate but the general idea is that children will arrive in small groups, go to their classrooms, learn to navigate the building, take a ride on the school bus, and then spend some time with their teachers in their classrooms doing some fun activities. Parents/Guardians are welcome to join Kindergarteners on this visit.
