Thanks to so many who made this end of the school year a spectacular one! From our student leaders who set the stage for our AVOCA WEST countdown (and enthusiastic participants of those days!) to our volunteers who jumped into action to support a wacky field day and the end-of-year picnic -- it showed collective effort and energy that makes Avoca West such a special place for all those who come here each day.
In preparation for my final newsletter at Avoca West, I have been marinating in the memories and gratitude that I have for our time together. This is such a magical place for students and adults, and I know that doesn't come without intentionally committing to keeping it going, even in the tough times. Two books come to mind as a proper send-off for our AW Community -- The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse and I Wish You More.
I shared the read aloud for The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse the first book over five years ago (during COVID) because of its message and will reshare the video again below. Who knew that COVID would make me a YouTube star!? I Wish You More has always been on my list of books to use for farewells, graduations, and other important send-offs. If you haven't read it, it goes as follows:

I wish you more will than hill.

I wish you more stories than stars.
I wish all of this for you, because you are everything I could wish for...and more.
Avoca West, I wish you more giggles than grumbles. I wish you more bravery than doubt. I wish you more together than alone. I wish you more adventures than setbacks. I wish you more learning than limiting. I wish you the happiness, health, and success in all you do and that you'll see the absolute treasure it is to spend your days together, learning, loving, and growing as Vikings!
