The Student Excellence Foundation awarded Mrs. Feeley the Distinguished Teacher Award. She will receive her award on April 16 at the Celebrate Our Stars event at Wheaton North High School. Congratulations Mrs. Feeley!
Register for Explore More Day Classes
Explore More Day is Friday, May 24. Class registration opens Mon., April 8 for 2nd - 5th graders. Please register your student ASAP since popular classes fill up quickly!
Registration must be completed by Mon., April 15.
Attention volunteers! We need lots of help to make this the best day of the year. If you are able to volunteer, please submit your information on the registration form. We are still looking for an instructor for Shakes & Smoothies, which runs all day.
If you have any questions, please contact your Explore More Day Co-Chairs, Rachel Bailey, Stephanie Brown, or Amy Fiorato at emd@madisonschoolpta.org.
Order a yearbook
It's not too late to order a copy of the Madison Paw Prints 2018-2019. Please click here to place an order. A yearbook costs $17 and will be delivered to the student before the end of the school year. This spreadsheet includes all orders as of March 18, 2019.
TreeRing offers two custom pages for FREE in addition to the 52 page standard yearbook. The deadline to complete these custom pages is April 10, 2019. Please remember to select "PRINT READY" when completed, otherwise, a standard non-custom yearbook will be printed for the order.

Volunteer to launch Coding Club
Are your students interested in a coding club? Committed parent helpers are needed to launch a coding club for the 2019-2020 school year. Email Shannon Klopfenstein (Shannon@klopfensteins.com) if you are able to help. Ideally parents who have a coding background and would be interested in presenting a lesson will volunteer, but any parent volunteer to help keep the club time on task are much appreciated.
Attend Taming the Teen Anxiety Beast
Congratulations 2019-20 PTA Executive Committee
Beth Tatro - Co-President Elect
Heather Button - Co-Vice President of Ways and Means
Jessica Houston - Secretary.
Voting will be held on April 22 at the 7 p.m. PTA meeting.
Save the date - Trivia Night 2019
Trivia Night is Sat., November 2, 2019. This adults-only fundraiser supports the PTA with all its proceeds. Trivia Night is a chance to mingle with friends and make new friends during a night of food, drinks, silent auction and trivia.
Sign-up to join the committee to help in various ways, from planning, getting auction prizes, communicating and helping the actual night of the event. Email mary.g.henderson@gmail.com if you are interested. Our goal is to have a meeting before school is out for summer to get a jump start on planning.
Donations to benefit Madison families
If you are looking to donate anything such as clothing, home stuff, toys, electronics, etc. please consider giving to Family Tree Resale on Geneva and Main in Wheaton (by the Jewel).
For every bag of donations they receive on behalf of Madison School, Family Tree will in turn donate a voucher to our school for a family to use to purchase items. Just drive around to the side door, walk in, and someone will help you unload your donations. Be sure to mention Madison School.
Save Your Pop Tabs
Madison Elementary students will be collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities at Central DuPage Hospital throughout the rest of the school year. The funds RMHC receives from recycling the pop tabs helps keep families together while their loved one is in the hospital. RMH provides meals, a place to stay, and the comforts of home during a difficult time. Each grade will have a collection container outside of the office when we return from winter break. Students can collect pop tabs from home, family, friends, or neighbors. The grade with the most tabs collected at the end of the year will receive a special reward. Questions contact Amy at madisoncares@madisonschoolpta.org
Time to return Madison welcome signs
Volunteer in the LLC
If you are looking for additional ways to help out at Madison, please consider volunteering in the library. This year we are short volunteers. Specifically, the LLC could use extra help on Tuesday and Friday mornings (9:15 a.m.-12 p.m.) and Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (1-3:30 p.m.). If you were to volunteer, you could expect to help check in and out books for students, shelf recently returned books and help Mrs. Graham with whatever else she may need that day. It is a lot of fun and we'd love to have you! Please contact Kathryn Medanic at llcvolunteers@madisonschoolpta.org to volunteer.
Save General Mills box tops
Please save General Mills box tops and turn them in to the LLC. Madison can earn ten cents for every General Mills box top received. Thank you to Cecilia Horjes for heading up this effort. We purchased many copies of award books for the library. Thank you for your support.
