May 2020 Parent and Student Newsletter
Principal's Message
Greetings Klentzman Parents and Students,
I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits! I know how hard it is to imagine that March 12 was our last day of school in a physical building. However, I am proud of the work my staff and our students have done over the past 6 weeks in this interim normal virtual learning environment.
There were growing pains as we worked through the complexities of online learning, but I feel confident that our staff has and will continue to work hard to build vital learning connections for you and your child. Students will continue to learn new content over the next few weeks so it is important that your child stays engaged in learning. Every student will receive a fourth nine weeks progress report letter grade as well as a fourth nine weeks letter grade. Students will be given an Incomplete (I), Approaches Standard (AS) or Met Standard (MS) based on the work they have done during this distance learning period. More information about the grading policy can be found on the Alief website.
As we finish this school year, please email your student's teachers questions you might have about any aspect of instruction. Our school administration and counselors are available to answer questions as well. The last day of school is May 21, 2020.
Summer school invitations will be going out soon and will be conducted via virtual learning. Although we miss our students' faces and personalities and the daily interactions, safety will continue to be our top priority.
Please continue to check our Facebook and twitter pages for end of year information in regards to instrument returns, traditional packet returns, and field day item pick ups. If your child has a library book or textbook at home, please locate them as a return date for those items is coming soon.
Be careful. Be safe. Make good decisions.
Thank you for a great school year.
Courtney Clark, Principal
