Hello Godwin Heights Middle School Families,
Thank you for another great week as we focused on perseverance throughout our building. It has been inspiring to see our students push through challenges and continue striving for success!
Looking ahead, we are excited to add some school spirit with dress-up days throughout the week, leading up to our school dance on Friday. We canāt wait to see our students show their creativity and school pride!
On Monday, students will have the opportunity to participate in a voluntary survey designed to help us learn more about their experiences and perceptions of school. Participating in this survey is completely voluntary and will not affect your childās grades in any way. Our students are our primary focus, and their feedback will help us make our school a better place for them, their classmates, and all students.
Additionally, we will be conducting our Chromebook Round-Up on Friday, March 14th, during advisory. All students must bring their Chromebook, charger, and case to be checked by our team. This is an important step in ensuring that all devices are in good condition and ready for continued learning.
As always, thank you for your support, and we look forward to another fantastic week ahead!

Daily Tutoring
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We appreciate your continued support of our after-school tutoring program as we work to provide additional academic support for our students. We wanted to share a few important updates regarding the program:
- Permanent Tutoring List: We are currently utilizing 88% of our available tutoring space. To ensure we are prioritizing students who need the most support, we will begin removing students from the permanent list if they have Cs or higher in all their classes. Additionally, moving forward, any student added to the permanent list must be approved by the course proficiency team.
- Daily Sign-Ups Still Available: All students will still have the opportunity to sign up for tutoring during advisory each day if space is available.
- Attendance Expectations: To ensure students receive the full benefit of tutoring, we ask that they arrive on time and stay for the full session unless previously arranged.
- Pick-Up Procedures: Students will be released from tutoring classrooms at 3:15pm. Please plan to pick up students near the main office entrance off of Wexford.
- Please remind your student to bring necessary materials, including assignments or classwork they may need help with.
- If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to durga@godwinschools.org or kathryn.golden@godwinschools.org.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting student success!
*There will be no tutoring Wednesday, March 19*

Highlights
Last week, we prepared for our Fun Run Dodgeball Tournament by practicing different variations of dodgeball in the gym and working on life skills through classroom lessons. On Monday, we had tennis lessons with Coach Arnold and focused on empowerment with the Be N.I.C.E lesson. Tuesday featured Dr. Dodgeball and brain teasers to strengthen problem-solving and creative thinking. Wednesday included Wall Dodgeball and the 5-Word Story Challenge, where students created a collaborative story. On Thursday, we played Protect the King Dodgeball and practiced decision-making and reasoning through a Would You Rather? debate.
