Kennerly Elementary School
Welcome Back Kennerly Families!
Welcome back to a new school year! We hope you all had a wonderful summer filled with fun, relaxation, and plenty of time to recharge. It was wonderful to see so many families at our Kindergarten Orientation, Meet the Teacher, and our Back to School Bash!
As we gear up for another fantastic year of learning and growth, we want to express how excited we are to have our students back, ready to explore, discover, and achieve great things. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare for an amazing year, filled with engaging lessons, new experiences, and opportunities for every child to shine. We believe that education is a partnership between the school and home, and we look forward to working closely with you to ensure the success of your child.
Just a couple of reminders.... The first couple weeks of school are a busy! Please be patient with our arrival & dismissal procedures. Learning new routes and new families' faces will take time. Also to minimize traffic and establish some normalcy, we are asking students only to enter the building. Our students are super excited and we promise to take care of them. Lastly, please be sure your child is aware of how they will be going home. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or call the main office. We are looking forward an awesome school year!

Kennerly Recess Expectatiois
Having game expectations at recess is important for several reasons:
Promotes Fair Play: Expectations ensure that everyone has a clear understanding of how the game should be played, which helps prevent disagreements and promotes fairness. This encourages children to play together harmoniously.
Safety: Expectations often include guidelines that keep children safe, such as no rough play or limits on certain actions. This reduces the risk of injuries and ensures that everyone can enjoy recess without getting hurt.
Teaches Accountability: Following expectations teaches children about accountability and the importance of adhering to agreed-upon guidelines. It helps them understand the consequences of their actions if they don’t meet the expectations.
Encourages Inclusion: Clear expectations make it easier for all children to participate, including those who might not be familiar with the game. This ensures that everyone feels included and can enjoy recess together.
Enhances Enjoyment: When everyone understands and meets the expectations, games tend to be more organized and enjoyable. This leads to a more positive experience for all participants.
Having game expectations at recess helps create a structured and enjoyable environment where children can learn, play, and grow together. The following graphics show our new gameplay expectations for recess.
Download FirstView App for Real-Time Bus Information
In partnership with the district’s transportation provider First Student, Lindbergh Schools uses the FirstView app to communicate bus information with families in real time. This includes student pickup and drop-off times, and any delays or notifications.
Download the FirstView app from the Apple or Google Play store
Click the yellow button that says “Tap here to add a new student”
Make sure the fields are set as follows:
State = “Missouri”
District = “Lindbergh SD”
Student Number = In this field, please enter your student’s 10-digit Student Number, which is located on the “Student Profile” page in Infinite Campus
It is important to note that bus routes change from year to year, so your student’s bus stop and pickup/drop-off times may not be the same as last year. Families are required to sign up for transportation services annually.
Please check your student’s bus stop information on Aug. 19 to confirm any updates or changes before the first day of school.
A Message from the Nurse About Student Illness and COVID-19
As the school year is starting, the school nurses would like to send reminders regarding student illnesses, and when a student should stay home from school. The district’s Health Procedures webpage includes helpful information to determine whether your child should stay home from school due to illness. The district exclusion list has been updated to meet current recommendations.
If your child will be missing school, please remember to contact your child’s school to make them aware. Our school’s attendance line is 314.729.2445.
Lindbergh Schools recommends reaching out to your health care provider if you have questions regarding COVID-19 exposure or illness. In addition, our district follows the COVID-19 Isolation and Precautions recommendations laid out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
As always, we are here to help and wish all of our families a safe and healthy school year. Thank you, and stay well.
Sincerely,
Jessica Franklin

2024-25 Student Board Representative Advisory Group - Apply Today!
Hello! My name is Lara Pimentel and I am serving as the Student Representative for Lindbergh’s Board of Education for the 2024-25 school year. Representing students from across our district is important to me because I want to ensure that students get a say in their education experience. That is why I am looking for students currently in grades 4-8 to participate in next year’s Student Board Representative Advisory group.
Each month, I will visit a different school in the district and talk to a small group of students. These short meetings take place during the school day for elementary schools, and directly after school for middle schools. In these meetings, I ask questions to the group of students and gather feedback regarding their experiences at Lindbergh. We look at what our schools are doing well and which areas could be improved upon.
From there, I share key information with the Board of Education and provide suggestions on ways to address student concerns.
So, if you are interested in representing your classmates, please fill out this form before Friday, Sept. 6!
