PCMS WeeklyUpdateMay 9, 2025

Good Afternoon PCMS Families!

As you read this, we are down to only 13 days of school remaining for this year … but there are STILL 13 DAYS OF SCHOOL REMAINING 🤗!! We’re not done yet - we have lots of learnin’ left in us 😜!!

MAP testing has gone very smoothly this week as we finished the ELA portion of state assessments. Next week, we tackle Math! Thank you for getting your kiddos here and prepared - we told them that we’re breaking records this year and that we have all the confidence in the world in them: if they try their best, that’s all we can ask of them. Continue to encourage your student to FINISH THE 4TH QUARTER STRONG with their grades and choices. We want to finish better than we started!

And finally, a HUGE THANK YOU to our incredible Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) for all the meals, treats, and goodies that they spoiled us with throughout Teacher Appreciation Week!! They were so gracious and thoughtful, and we’re so blessed to serve in this Pirate School Community!!

Happy Mother's Day to all our Pirate Moms out there, and GO PIRATES!!

Those athletes were Samantha Jones, Clara Bullano, Rylee Dishman, Addison Linn, Kade Fowler, Jayden Horn, and Emmet Hughes. Rylee Dishman broke the school triple jump record, and Jayden Horn earned a 2nd place finish at the GKC Championships.

On Tuesday, the top two 7th and 8th grade girls and boys competed in Kearney. Together, they amassed over 50 medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The 8th grade boys took 2nd in team points, and the 7th grade girls took 2nd as well. Both earned plaques for their schools.

Please talk with your child about the dangers of these trends and the importance of using technology safely and responsibly. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office.

Students entered their course requests through SchooLinks for the 25-26 school year in February. If changes for the 25-26 year are requested prior to the first week of school, they will be completed based on the following needs:

  • Schedules that need to be amended based upon limitations from programs or courses students have been accepted to (NCC, NCAPS, audition based courses, etc...)
  • Incomplete schedules due to conflicts in the master schedule
  • Seniors who have requested part-time status (students are encouraged to submit their part time request by May 23, 2025) Students and parents are strongly encouraged to review the part-time criteria and considerations.

Changes that are requested based on changes in interest since submitting requests in February will be reviewed when students submit a course change request form in August per our schedule change process guidelines.
