A few Words from Mrs. Buch and Mr. Walton
Week two is in the books! Thank you again for your continued support as we work through the ups and downs of remote learning. Scott and I have enjoyed visiting class Zoom meetings, reading to classes, and talking with students. We will continue to look for opportunities to build connections with students and families throughout this fall. Our Wolverines are excited to be back at school and are enjoying interacting with their friends and teachers.
We wish you a healthy and happy weekend!
Westgate's Virtual Curriculum Night will be held on Monday, September 14th.
We will host our Virtual Curriculum Night on Monday evening (see the schedule below)!
Curriculum Night is an opportunity for parents to meet classroom teachers and learn more about their child's grade-level curriculum and classroom procedures. This year it will be held virtually through Zoom.
During curriculum night, you will experience a live presentation from your child's teacher and have an opportunity to ask questions about curriculum and classroom procedures. We also encourage you to watch a welcome video from the Westgate Administrative Team and join a Zoom meeting with the Westgate Specials Team.
Classroom teachers will be sending their specific link to families in the next day or so. On Monday, I will send an email with links to our video and a link to the Specials Team Zoom.
We look forward to having you join us on Monday night!
How does my child connect to their specials' classroom? Watch the video and find out!
Remote Learning Support
Reboot to Refresh!
Video conferencing takes a tremendous amount of resources for computers. Our District Tech department recommends that you encourage your children to restart their devices at least once a day, during an off period or each morning/evening. This helps to reset the computer usage and make it available for the next set of tasks. You can also improve performance by limiting the amount of tabs and windows open at the same time as they are constantly reloading in the background. These steps can help reset and hopefully improve the experience each day.
