Family Engagement and Communication
We understand that effective communication is key to a successful partnership, so we've outlined the various channels through which we engage with our community, including the Weekly Wolf Updates, monthly Coffee with the Community gatherings, Board meetings, PACK meetings, and Town Hall events. These events are shared on the Weekly Wolf Update newsletter, our school calendar, and on our social media channels.
The Weekly Wolf Update Newsletter
The ASA Fontana Weekly Wolf Update is our family newsletter. It is shared via email, text message every Sunday during the school year and posted on the homepage of our school website at asafontana.org

Parents And Community for Kids (PACK)
Parents And Community for Kids, known as PACK, is a volunteer parent group for Allegiance STEAM Academy and a non profit 501(c)3 dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students at ASA. PACK welcomes all parents and guardians to join their monthly meetings, shared on the school calendar. This is a great way to get involved, meet other parents and gain an understanding of the exponential value that your generosity and efforts hold. Be sure to follow the Fontana PACK on Instagram @allegiancepackfontana
School Site Council (SSC)
The School Site Council (SSC) is established to further the involvement of parents and guardians in their children’s educational program as a parent/faculty advisory board. Contact the principal if you are interested in serving on the SSC.
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting is a vital forum for parents, educators, and community members to collaborate and support the academic success of English Learners (ELs) at our school. The meeting provides a platform to discuss and address the unique needs of EL students, share resources and strategies for language acquisition, and ensure that EL families are informed and engaged in their children's education
Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
The CAC is made up of parents, special and general education teachers, psychologists, consultants, students with disabilities, and representatives from private and public agencies. Members are nominated and appointed by school boards of member school districts and charter schools (also known as local education agencies) in our SELPAs. A majority of members are parents. What does that mean? ASA Terms Defined
We aim to demystify our unique terminology and events, such as Student-Led Conferences (SLCs), STEAM Live, Triads, and CAASPP assessments, to provide clarity and context for new families.
Triad Conferences - Held during the first trimester of our school year, Triads are an opportunity for parents/guardians, students, and teachers to come together to share academic progress and growth based on classroom observations, testing data, assessments, portfolios, and assignments.
Student-Led Conferences (or "SLC's) - ASA encourages students to reflect on their learning process and take responsibility for sharing their accomplishments. During SLC's, families come into the classroom and the student takes the lead in presenting a lesson, project or portfolio of work that they have prepared. It’s a great way to celebrate progress, reinforce efforts to improve, and boost our students’ confidence in communicating and taking pride in their work. Learn more.
STEAM LIVE - Held in the spring, STEAM LIVE (Learning, Innovation, Vision, Exploration) is an open house-style event where families come to campus to experience the hands-on learning and STEAM projects students work on all year long.
Wolves Ways - Our organization-wide behavior code, the Wolves Ways are referenced often to support student learning. See them here.
MAP - A local computer-adaptive assessment that students take 3 times a year. Learn more by visiting Family Guide to MAP, Guía familiar para MAP Growth
CAASPP - The California Assessment of Student Progress and Performance is designed to give information to teachers, students, and their families about what students know and are able to do. It also indicates whether students are on track to be ready for success in college or career when they graduate from high school. Learn more here.
LCAP - Created with input from all ASA stakeholders, the Local Control Accountability Plan, or LCAP, is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for ASA to share our stories of how, what, and why programs and services are selected to meet their local needs.
