COLLINS HEADED BACK TO OLYMPIC TRAINING CENTER
#PointerNation Junior Dealya Collins is headed back to the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs! This is her 4th invitation to train with the Olympic Wrestling Team.
Athletes have to win at the highest level of competition, then be personally selected and invited to train by the Team USA coaching staff, in order to attend.
Dealya was invited to train at the Olympic Training Center every other month as a Freshman after she earned All-American status at Fargo Nationals. Then she qualified for Pan Am Team Selection. At Pan Am Team Trials, Dealya earned All-American status yet again. This made her an alternate for representing Team USA at the Pan Ams. She was invited to the Olympic Training Center to partner with the finalist who went on to represent Team USA at the Pan American Games.
This year, Dealya again earned the All-American title, this time at the World level. Because Dealya placed at World Team Trials, she is now, once again, invited to train at the Olympic Training Center. Some portion of the women in this training group will be representing Team USA in the next World Championships, Pan Ams, and Olympics.
Dealya continues to be a groundbreaker for #PointerNation Girls Wrestling with this huge honor! Team USA has also recognized Dealya for all the hours she volunteers coaching girls and growing girls wrestling, specifically at the youth level.
Dealya's next Olympic Training Center stay is the first week of December. Go get 'em, Dealya!
