School is starting soon and we are so excited!
Westgate Family Meet and Greet/ Supply Drop-off
We will be hosting a Meet and Greet/Supply Drop-off for families on Tuesday, August 16th, from 2:20 p.m-3:20 p.m. To ease the flow of people in the building at one time, we are encouraging families whose last names begin with the letters A-K to come from 2:20 p.m.-2:50 p.m. and names L-Z come from 2:50 p.m.-3:20 p.m.
School Supplies:
If you ordered school supplies through PTA, they will be delivered to your child's classroom. Otherwise, you can purchase them on your own and bring them to the Meet and Greet on Tuesday. The supply list is attached below for your reference.
Westgate's Curriculum Night
Westgate 2022-2023 School Theme
The students and staff voted for our 22-23 school theme this spring. It is Sports- Team Westgate-Better Together!!! Teachers will be incorporating the theme into their classrooms throughout the year.

A Look Ahead-All School Pledge Tradition (weather permitting)
On the first day of school, students should meet their teachers by their assigned door. The teacher will be holding up signs with their names so they will be easy to see. At 9:05 a.m., teachers will lead their classes to the front circle drive, where we will say the pledge together as a school, celebrating the start to the school year!
Parents are welcome to stay for the pledge of allegiance; however, we ask that they move to the sidewalk area by the street and not stand with the classes. Also, the front circle drive will be closed to traffic on the first day of school only. We encourage families to walk to school or ride their bikes. If you are driving your child to school, please allow yourself extra time to find parking.

COVID-19 Procedures for 2022-23 |
District 25’s COVID-19 procedures will look different from last year. Students who test positive for COVID-19 will be excluded from school for 5 days after the start of symptoms, and will be able to return to school should their COVID-19 symptoms be gone after 5 days of isolation. For example, if a student tests positive for COVID-19 with symptoms beginning on a Wednesday (day 0), they would be eligible to return to school the following Tuesday (day 6).
While students are out, parents can request missed work/homework from the student’s classroom. Homework will be made available upon a request to the classroom teacher or school office, and will be available by 3:00 pm on the third day of absence.
Additionally, parents will have the option to sign the student up for the District’s Academy Program. This is not a requirement, but an option for those who want their child to participate while they are absent from school. For more information, visit our COVID-19 page on our website: www.sd25.org/COVID19.
Calling All Room Reps!
Please note that your application does not guarantee you a spot as a Room Rep, as it will depend on the amount of interest there is. Reach out to Shelley Daley from PTA with questions.
