PARENT INVOLVEMENT
2025-26 Registration Now Open!
Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! All current families should have received an email notification with instructions for re-registration. If you haven’t seen it, please check your inbox (and junk folder) or visit our website for detailed registration information: Registration Process Information.
We encourage you to complete your registration early, as several schools in our division are nearing or already at capacity. Securing your spot now ensures a smooth transition into the upcoming school year.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the registration process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for choosing Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools!
Reminder - School Fees
We kindly remind parents to ensure any outstanding school fees are paid at their earliest convenience. Please note that next semester's fees will be posted shortly. Your support helps us continue providing quality programs and resources for our students. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Dual Credit Course
We are excited to announce the availability of Dual Credit courses for the upcoming semester!
Dual Credit allows high school students to earn both high school and post-secondary credits simultaneously. This unique opportunity provides students with a head start on their college education while still in high school. This opportunity would be for grade 11 and 12 students primarily; however, strong grade 10 students could be considered.
For this academic year, we are offering:
Sociology 1000
Psychology 1040
These courses are offered by NorQuest College and are transferable to both Grant MacEwan University, Concordia University and the University of Alberta.
Dual Credit offers numerous benefits, including:
Reduced college tuition costs: Earn college credits while only paying the textbook fee.
Early exposure to post-secondary education: Gain valuable college experience and prepare for the transition to university.
Enhanced academic rigor: Challenge yourself with college-level coursework.
Improved college readiness: Develop essential skills for success in higher education.
We encourage you to discuss this exciting opportunity with your student. More information, including course descriptions, eligibility requirements, and registration details, will be available soon.
Deadline to register - Feb. 3, 2025
Course starts - Feb. 10 and 12, 2025

SAFE AND CARING SCHOOLS
GSACRD Voice - Peace and Mental Health
As parents, we’ve all seen our teens struggle with new challenges—whether it’s a tough subject in school, making new friends, or trying something unfamiliar. When they say, “I’ll never be good at this,” or “I should just give up,” it’s a sign they might be thinking with a fixed mindset. This means they believe their abilities are limited and can’t be improved, but the Power of YET can help shift their perspective.
What is the “Power of YET”?
The Power of YET is a simple yet powerful tool to change how our teens approach challenges. Instead of saying, “I can’t do this,” encourage them to add the word “yet.” This small shift reminds them that struggle is part of the learning process and that they may not have mastered something yet, but they can with practice and persistence.
Why the Power of YET Matters
A fixed mindset can hold teens back, making them think they’re stuck in their current abilities. But with a growth mindset, they understand that effort and practice lead to improvement. The Power of YET reinforces that abilities can grow, and setbacks are just temporary.
Learning takes time, and success isn’t immediate. By embracing the Power of YET, your teen can learn to persist through challenges and realize that growth comes with practice. They may not have done it yet, but with effort, they will.

Student Council Events
February is a BUSY month for our members as they are helping our student body celebrate the month of LOVE! We have a silly fundraiser called the MatchMaker. Students filled out a fun questionnaire that we will send off later this week to get their results processed to see who their best friend matches are, most compatible matches, least compatible, birthday trivia and so on. MatchMaker results will be sold for $2 during Valentine's week. Everyone who buys their results will be entered in a PRIZE draw and receive candy!
We will be continuing our tradition of selling "Crush for a Crush", $2 each or 3 for $5, delivery on Valentine's Day and we are selling CONCERT tickets for $10 for Apotheosis! Popcorn and Iced Tea are included.
All items will be sold in Centre Court on the days posted in the attachment and the concert tickets will be available from the front office anytime as well.
All our proceeds will go towards funding our MAY DANCE!
And of course we ask the MCHS community to support PINK SHIRT Day on Wednesday, February 26th.
