What is Mythicon? It’s Eckstein’s student-led event celebrating different fandoms that students love. Library End of the Year Reminders
- Library books are due June 9th. If students are still using a book for a class, there are no fines for overdue books, so they can turn them in as soon as they are done. If students want to keep books for the summer, they will have to email Ms. Sterling (emsterling@seattleschools.org) to renew them on June 10th! Fines are only for lost books so if there is a fine listed and the book is turned in, the fine goes away. To check what books are out or any fines, log into The Source (https://ps.seattleschools.org) and click the library tab on the left.
- Summer checkout begins June 10th. Books checked out for the summer will be due on Friday Sept. 5th when we are back in the fall!
- If students read 10 Eagles Read books semester 2, they will be invited to the Eagles Read pizza party during both lunches on Friday, June 13th.
- Laptops will be returned Tues. June 17th with your classes. If you are leaving before that, you need to bring your laptop to Ms. Sterling in the library.
- While there is no summer reading required at Eckstein, if students do Seattle Public Library's Book Bingo, they can bring it in, email Ms. Sterling, or show Ms. Sterling a picture of it filled out in Sept. and earn a prize!
- Want book suggestions? Check out the Eckstein library website! New Eagles Read books for next year have been chosen and are listed there and you can read them over the summer if you want!
Is Your Student Not Attending Eckstein or SPS Next Year?

Filling out the NANY Form ensures that SPS Enrollment receives official confirmation from the parent/guardian of your student’s plan to unenroll.
A Few Spots Left for 8th Grade Pancake Breakfast Volunteers

Attendance Matters! - End of Year Expectations
End-of-Year Attendance Reminders
If your student will be leaving school before June 18, please have them pick up and complete a Preplanned Absence Form from the Attendance Office in advance.
Field Trip Returns
Students returning from end-of-year field trips are expected to remain at school until the regular dismissal time. While they may ask to leave early, we kindly ask that all students stay on campus for the full day.
Early dismissals put a significant strain on our limited staff, especially as we supervise all grade levels and manage return logistics. 6th & 7th graders, upon return from their fieldtrips on June 17, will return their laptops then join 8th graders for a fun assembly.
8th graders, upon return from their fieldtrip on June 18, will return to their homerooms with the expectation that they remain in school until the 2:45 pm dismissal.
Please talk with your student ahead of time about staying until the end of the school day.
Thank you for your understanding and support!

For Students Heading to Roosevelt in the Fall - Water Polo
Roosevelt Girls & Boys Water Polo are High School Club teams
that play in the Puget Sound Water Polo League. The Clubs are run by
parent volunteers to provide students with opportunities to play water polo.
Boys club water polo is a Fall sport and Girls club water polo is a Spring sport.
Water polo is an exciting sport combining swimming, basketball, and wrestling all while
treading water. No experience required, you just need to know how to swim.
This is a no-cut team, and we encourage players of all levels to join!
Ready to join? Want more info?
Please reach out to our Roosevelt Club Advisor Sunshine Feldman
(srfeldman@seattleschools.org) if you have any questions
regarding either team.
