LIBRARY REDEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Thank you to the many families who worked and cooked for the school fair, which kicked off the fundraising efforts. Thank you to the families who sponsored soft furnishings - because of you we have been able to order everything from our wish list! The final PTA fundraiser - the Dinner Dance, was a huge success! It was a terrific evening with great food, music and of course dancing. Thank you to the many parents, caregivers and community members who worked in collaboration by helping in a number of ways to make these events successful.

Packing up the library...
We are busy boxing up the library in preparation for the construction, which will begin on Friday, after the students go home at 12:00. Final meetings with the architects have taken place, furniture has been ordered and we are busy finalising last-minute orders in preparation for August.
Some students have been in to help this week, sticking labels onto books before we box them up. We have had volunteers and older students back for the summer in to help as well. The boxes of books will be moved and stored in the hall over the summer.
We are happy to say that the existing shelving and furniture will not end up in a landfill - some is able to be utilised in other places around the school and the rest is going to The Island Christian Academy as they look to set up their new school campus, which is a win-win for everyone.
At this point, we anticipate that the library will be open in the third week of school after the summer. This will allow construction to completely finish, the finishing touches to be made, and the books unpacked and placed on the shelves.
A welcome evening for parents will be held on Wednesday, September 18. More details to come in August.
Striped Folders Please!
Your child will receive their own striped folder back in August with a new label. The label will include your child's name, class, new barcode and logo ready for the new school year. Thank you.
