What we will be learning this week

Theme: I live in a community.

Colors- New: ORANGE. review: red, blue, green and yellow

Shapes- New: Rectangle. review circle, square and oval (round/not round)

Writing - introduce touch, pull down - review: Up and around, strokes up and down

Math - comparing near and far / more and less

Reading - Introduce Letter Ss - review Letter Aa and Mm

Study about WHERE WE LIVE and our neighborhoods / Rhyming

Important dates

October 2: Colors for Caring Day

October 14: District holiday - no school for students

October 15-18: Homecoming dress-up days

Oct. 18: EARLY RELEASE at 12 noon. Homecoming parade (optional- but fun) for families to attend at 2pm.

October 22: Trunk or Treat

Birthday Treats

We would love to honor your child on a Friday close to their special day! We know it means so much to them to share it with their friends. Any food treats need to be "store bought". Please contact your child's teacher so you can find out how many students are in the class.

Extra pair of clothes

Please make sure your child has an extra pair of clothes in their cubby for emergencies. Sometimes we don't make it down to the bathroom in time or we spill our lunch on ourselves. Having an extra pair of shorts/pants and underwear in a baggie will keep us from having to call you in the middle of class. We can just change and clean up and get back to learning.

Reading every day/night

Reading each day/night to your child is so important. Click on the picture to see just how it will help your child and their success in learning. Bonus: It is great one on one quality time with your child.

Dress Code

Colors for caring

On the first Wednesday of each month, you may wear a color shirt that helps support a cause that is special to you. You can click on the picture to see colors and what cause they represent.
