Thank you to all the families who came out last night to attend Read Aloud Night. We hope you and your children enjoyed all the wonderful stories and appreciate you braving the cold to support the importance and enjoyment of reading. Many thanks to our staff readers, Mr. Dantzler, special guest author, and Mrs. Hirschhorn and Mrs. Lorey for organizing this event. Students should continue to log their reading minutes until January 28, which is when our Readathon ends.

Please note there is no school for students on Wednesday, January 29 as this is a grading and planning day for teachers.

Please bookmark the January Media Monthly. There is a lot of information regarding the various events that are occurring for the last weeks of January. Our Readathon will end on January 28, but logs are not due until January 30. We cannot accept late logs. Our Read Aloud Night exceeded our expectations! Our readers were wonderful - they shared the gift of simply reading with our students. And in spite of the freezing temperatures, you came out in record numbers for your children. My heart is so full. I must thank Mrs. Lorey for supporting me throughout this event — an event that we've held at Cedar Grove for over 18 years! On another note, we have several music cafe rehearsals scheduled during the 4th and 5th grade recesses, and of course our 5th grade Book Club will meet on Tuesday. Have a wonderful weekend!
