EHS Principal's Update:Week 18
Monday, December 16, 2024

Good Evening EHS Lion Family,
Dear Lions,
It's Week 18 and the last week before Christmas break. Christmas break will be between December 23 with school resuming on January 13th.
As the holiday break approaches, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible efforts and achievements of our school community this year. From the classroom to extracurricular activities, your dedication, creativity, and resilience have made our campus a special place of learning and growth.
To our students, thank you for your hard work and enthusiasm, which inspire us every day. To our families, your unwavering support helps create a strong partnership that nurtures success. And to our staff, your commitment to excellence ensures that every student feels supported and valued.
As school resumes in January, please keep in mind that regular attendance is key to helping students stay on track for graduation and to building important friendships. Starting in January 2025, students will need to maintain at least 94% attendance during the second semester to take part in fun campus activities like Prom, dances, performances, and athletics. This includes both tardies and unexcused absences. If a student has an excused absence, it should be cleared through the attendance office. If a student doesn't meet the 94% attendance requirement, they can make up unexcused absences and tardies by attending Saturday School. Thanks for your continued support in encouraging students to attend class and stay engaged!
The NACAC College and Career Fair is on February 3, 2024. This is a great field trip opportunity for 11th grades students to meet college representatives, explore career pathways, and plan their future. Permission Sips are required to attend and can be picked up at the activities office. Spaces are limited. If you are a college bound 11th grade student, turn in your permission slip as soon as possible to save your seat at this important event.
Athletics Events:
Winter sports are in full swing with Girls' and Boys' basketball, soccer, and wrestling. Be sure to check the athletics calendar below for the times of upcoming home games.
Other reminders
Winter Dress Code Reminders: In addition to our regular dress code rules, please note that students may not wear ski masks or face coverings unless needed for health purposes.
Key Dress Code Guidelines:
No tube tops or strapless tops
Clothing should not reveal undergarments – this includes excessively ripped pants or shirts with holes
Clothing should not expose undergarments or private areas – such as short shorts or sagging pants
No tank tops with oversized arm openings or undershirt tank tops worn alone
No items with inappropriate images or content – this includes references to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sexual content, or any illegal activities
We understand that fashion trends come and go, but adhering to the dress code helps foster a focused and respectful school environment.
If a Student Arrives Out of Dress Code:
We will check if the student has an appropriate change of clothing available.
If not, we will contact a parent/guardian to bring a change of clothes or arrange for the student to be picked up to change.

In closing, I hope this holiday season brings you joy, rest, and time to connect with loved ones. May the New Year bring renewed energy, new opportunities, and continued success for all.
Thank you for being part of our school family. Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season!
Sincerely,
Blake Stanford
EHS Principal
Estimados Leones,
Atentamente,
Blake Stanford
